Man, these damn things never work for me. Are you supposed to be able to see something in that?
What if the world is being run by people who can read Magic Eye posters and the rest of us are wondering around in complete ignorance?

On a monitor I find it pretty easy to see 'em if you use the glare from a light source/window and focus on that lightly. Don't strain. Effectively, the glared object appears to be behind the image which offers an easy way to "look past" the image - this is the same method used to see stereograms on paper. Try it out that way.

Dean!!! I saw it! I saw it!! I did like ya said, and focused on the glare from the skylight behind me and and and - there it was! I owe you a debt of gratitude. You've saved me from Magic Eye ignorance, and shown me Satan! Thanks and praises to Carolynanna for helping me see my way to enlightenment!

Yeah, and he's got cavernous eye sockets and not much personality, really. Just pretend it's a goldfish bowl, and you're spacing out on the water.
Am I feverish? Suddenly I don't feel so sane....

Glad to see I can put all that optics physics I took to some use! :) Congrats on entering the 3D realms. Watch out for Duke Nukem, he's a womanizer. Though very loose with cash.

I dunno, maybe it's a Marilyn Manson thing. Or did Anton LaVey pluck his eyebrows?
If you go back to the witch trial accounts, you'll see that way back then, when they had a fairly closer relationship to Satan than we do now, he wasn't ambiguous at all. In fact, he was the Rocco Siffredi of his time or something. If memory serves, in some stories proudly displayed three penises, which he used all at once on a single partner.
Witch trials were great for that. You could enjoy incredibly nasty porn stories while pretending to serve God's justice. (Did someone say "Kenneth Starr"?)
My throughly researched conclusion: the sixteenth century's obsession was big cocks & anal sex. The twenty-first's is sexual ambiguity, homosexuality, transgender-ism, Middlesex, that sort of thing. There.

Religious fundamentalists are the scourge of our enlightenment as a human race. We take one step forward, two steps back...all because these insect-brained zealots think they have the answers for everything, and whoever doesn't have the same answer is "damned." Feel free to blame 99% of the world's filthy shit (both today and throughout history) on organized religion. There is no talking sense to these people!

Well, see, now this is turning into a close-minded discussion about Christianity. Has anybody considered that since Jesus died, that Christianity has split into about a thousand different factions...I mean you're lumping all of "Christianity" into one entity. I've observed different branches of Christianity, and I can tell you that the majority (I'm talking about like 99.5%) do not practice what the Bible says, and teach things that the Bible does not even support. There are true "Christians" that do view things the right way, allbeit they're in the minority.

I agree with this, that today's organized religion is at the root of most problems today, supporting wars, etc. I think that governments will try to get rid of organized religion in the near future.

The old-mentality conservative pundits need to be weeded about before any kind of mass change takes place.

Calistanian made a good point.
Also, everyone makes it sound like Christianity is just against anyone who is not a Christian, but you know, even different branches of Christianity disagree and fight with each other. You think all "Christians" agree with the Catholics? Or the baptists? Churches split all the time and form other churches beacuse they disagree over petty stuff within the church.
Not all Christians live the "I condemn you to hell!" lifestyle, similar to how not all Muslims are going to fly a plane into a building. There are crazy people and sane people within each religion. Most people miss the point of their own religion.

No, i can't use those stupid magic eye things, i'll just have to see the film if i want to see Satan in its full glory.
So in respect of the film, do you recommend it as a cinematic experience or are reglious leanings a pre requisite for enjoyng it? |

Heres what they had to say about korn - Don’t let Korn stir up morbid hysterics in your teen.
..and this ones great on pearl jam - Should Christian teens invest in No Code? No way! This disc definitely has its problems. Frequent use of the f-word is reason enough to avoid it!

What is funny is that in this websites review of the "The Passion of the Christ" one of things it says is:
"The word d--n is subtitled"
And yes, the review bleeped it out like that. I think there was ONE cuss word in that whole movie. Why did they even have to mention it?

That is funny.
On a related note to this Jesus movie thing, I just watched the Last Temptation of Christ for the first time and thought it was pretty good.

Well said, Calistanian and Proverbial Cereal. I am a Christian, and I try do do my best to live up to what the Bible teaches. However, I'm not the type of person who will point my finger at you and talk down at you if I see you doing something that I don't agree with. I think that Christianity itself has gotten a bad rap in part because of the atrocities done in the name of God. Hitler and the KKK for example claimed to be doing God's will. The Christian settlers here in America stripped the natives of their dignity and livelihood, and the same goes for the slavemasters that beat and raped their black slaves. However, none of this is consistent with the central message of the Bible: Love. Of course nowadays most people who call themselves Christians are still guilty of the same hatred, discrimination, and closedmindedness that they claim to be against. There are also some who try hard to show love to all people without prejudice. I hate the fact that people hate Christianity just because of the faults of the people who claim to follow it's teachings. Yes it's very easy to do, but it's because people are imperfect, not God.
P.S. I loved The Passion of The Christ, although it's not something I would want to see regularly. It's more of an introspective experience rather than entertainment. And I love Five Iron Frenzy too. One time a few friends and I went to Steak n Shake after a show of theirs, and we sipped spoonful after spoonful of that hot pepper juice that they have there. Fun.

And yes, there are lots of ridiculous "Christian" websites and people with silly interpretations of pop-culture. I don't agree with alot of stuff that people say whether they are religious or not. I like to comtemplate ideas and decide for myself. |
