I wasn't actually referring to your post... I just added your quote. Sorry, I was spretty drunk last night... I was just adding an irrelevant comment that there seems to be quite a few people who don't like Pistolero. It didn't reaqlly have anything to do with anything.

Oh yeah... I am an insomniac. No matter what time I go to bed, I wake up at about 7am. Sometimes I get home drunk at 5am and then am awake at 7am. I can never sleep in, just not possible. Very strange.

This is how I hear Captain Pasty, the blue bits are changes from the last version I saw of it.

Captain Pasty

awwww huh huhuhu

I'm a captain in a flying crew
I find the farm is a super bore (I don't get this line)
The world is small when I'm in the air
The universe it don't make me scared. No!

I'm a zipper in a metal mule
I'm a sip-a-of-a rocket fuel
I see my friends take the blessed dive
I'm just a lucky to a be alive

Don't take your eyes off Captain Pasty
High in the skies of alabaster faces
Don't take your eyes off Captain Pasty

Even better I'm a mother's son
Love the rattle of the melting gun
We must attack when they flee and hiss
See my friends in a million bits

Don't take your eyes off Captain Pasty
High in the skies of alabaster faces
Don't take your eyes off Captain Pasty

Captain Pasty please report to the tarmac for a very important assignment
God speed.

Don't take your eyes off Captain Pasty
High in the skies of alabaster faces
Don't take your eyes off Captain Pasty

Hang on baby I'm a bit a fast
Present future and the future past
Tells me something I don't wanna know
So I do ya then I go

Don't take your eyes off Captain Pasty
High in the skies of alabaster faces
Don't take your eyes off Captain Pasty

A hooby hoob hoob shoop

Isn't it Godspeed in one word? I think it is an archaic expression/blessing, non?

Anyway. Bluefinger is simply INCROYABLE. I brought it with me on my one week vacation in Cuba, listened to it constantly, couldn't listen to other stuff for too long. A real drug. I must admit listening to Tight Black Rubber with all those bikini-clad women around brought strange visions in my mind...

Me too I will buy multiple copies in September, to clean up my sin.

Your Mouth Into Mine is currently my strongest title but this changes daily.

Wishing someone god speed is normally telling them to come quickly, whereas godspeed is more often wishing them good luck, so it could be either I guess.

Any idea about the farm bit (second line)? It could make sense I suppose. I hope he puts the lyrics in the sleeve when it is released, I find this song interesting.

Eh.. you write that many songs and you're bound to reuse a couple rhymes/themes. Everyone does. Besides, big and small isn't exactly an insanely original juxtaposition.

I love this part... Yeah, we did it!

I might be wrong about the second and third alterations, but i am pretty certain he says 'flying corps', it rhymes better with the next line.

Also i am curious whether anyone else hears a line in Threshold Apprehension the way i do, it's the line where he says 'Have a drink press button 7th floor, and i wait a hundred years for the elevator door' now i know several people thought it was 'Have a drink piss by the 7th floor' but after about 50 listens now it really sounds like '...press button' to me. Am i just crazy or does anyone else agree?

The begining is set that way to show clearly it's gonna rock quite a lot. And it's an album you reach the end before even thinking about it, so the tracklisting mustn't be bad.
But I agree with you, I think a softer track (musicaly and lyricaly) like Angels or other could be a classier way to enter the Bluefinger dimension.
But honestly, I dont think B F will change anything for the final release. I'd wish a new version in stores with a couple of changes, just to have a feeling of new, but I really doubt Frank would do it. It doesnt fit to what he usualy says in the interviews about his way of recording, mixing and realeasing.

I think you are right about corps, or perhaps core. I thought about the rhyme with bore, but had crew fixed in my head every time I heard it.

The 'every battle' bit sounds more like it too. I'm not sure about the third one passed 'muzzle'. 'Hot' sounds like 'tight', or 'tied', but 'tallied' would make the most sense, as if he had made notches for each hit. It seems like 'My muzzle ....... with a million hits'.

'Press button' sounds right to me as well.

This is fun.

I thought it was 'When Mars attack, with a million hits'. But the muzzle bit makes sense...

And I heard 'I see my fans in a billion bits'; but again, it could easily be 'friends' and 'million'.

What's the problem about a thirty minutes album, it's really easier to listen to half an hour of music without pausing it or having to do something else and just turning it off (by the way isn't it a bit longer than that anyway ?)
FMRM, I keep it for the really quiet evenings, when I know nobody will disturb. But that doesnt happend every day!

Before it gets said too many times that this album is 30 minutes, it's really 39. There's a big difference. Yeah, it's short, but not that short.

I'm pretty sure that before CDs came out with 74 minutes to wank it was stanard to have an album be about this length, nothing surprising at all except perhaps simply its coming after FMRM which was a double album.

The right length for an album is under 47'20". Beyond that it won't fit on one side of a tape. That's why FB&TC is great and Pistolero sucks.
