Thanks! I didn't have access to ticketmaster from work. I suppose the HoB in West Hollywood is right in floop's backyard, isn't it?

Kickass. Two days after my 30th birthday I get to see Frank play songs that were actually written AFTER 1991. Can't wait. |

A Sunday, how fucking sweet is that! There are 3 or 4 or more old Vaudeville era theatres still left in Winnipeg. The Pixies played the Burton Cummings (Walker, Odeon) 1906, 2000 capacity and now Frank's playing Pantages 1914, 1600 seats. It has a pretty new lobby facing Main Street. I can't actually remember ever going to see a show there, but it is a beautiful sight. They ignorantly tore down the much abused Capitol in 2003 (1921, 2000 seats) while the Metropolitan (Allen, 1919, 2300 seats) is still in mothballs.
I was in a line of about 150 people when everyone in the world was getting tickets for the Pixies show, only the first 2 people got tickets and the show sold out in seconds (don't cry, I snagged the ticket of a hapless Minneapolitan). I will not make that mistake again, I'll buy my tickets online (not in-line).
The new dates aren't listed on Ticketmaster yet, but the Edmonton and Calgary shows are on sale today, August 8th.
This is interesting (to me): The Winnipeg Auditorium, now Manitoba Archives, "The smaller concert hall...survived the building's $3-million 1975 remodelling (into the Provincial Archives and Library) but by the early 1980s was no longer in use."
I used to work here. |

Well I'm a loser and I'm bored so I checked that out, and the winners are: - Daisy Girl who mentioned the First Avenue in Minneapolis; - Perhaps who suggested the High Noon Saloon in Madison; - mostasteless who posted about the Avalon in Boston; - and kfs (Nashville), scruvs (Orlando), MacE Doobage & Broken Face (NYC), fumanfru (Winipeg) and Cult of Frank (Saskatoon) who got the right cities but the wrong venues.

EDF playing bass, which is even more interesting - to my knowledge he hasn't really played bass on a tour since his Snakefinger days...

And yeah, when I was writing up the news I was wondering, since Duane plays guitar, if EDF would be covering bass or keys. Maybe Duane can cover bass here and there <crosses fingeres>. Or maybe I should start practicing for my cameo when they come here...
Brian, if you have a sec do you want to post that tickets are going on sale in the news. I'm conflicted about this since the news is more widely read and I'd rather assure that everyone here who wants tix gets a crack at it first.

Nope, the most exciting thing was the mention of Schwarma in the podcast. That said, I can't wait to hear live versions of the FMRM songs. Tour starts tomorrow! I'm hoping to start seeing boots by Thursday.
