Who was the douchebag who distracted FB (and the audience most of the night) during I'm Not Dead (I'm In Pittsburgh)? I mean c'mon.

Wow -- he did My Life Is In Storage? I can't imagine he bothered much with the long guitar solo at the end, eh? Was the slower part of the song as emotionally wrought as it is on Honeycomb? Man, I hope somebody recorded these shows. Wow -- Billy Radcliffe, Rabbit Hole (if that's the title), Fitzgerald. What a great couple sets.

Post all you want, Sk8. Sounds like these shows were the highlight of the tour so far. The more we hear, the better, and it seems Brian's still sleeping ...

i guess i should also mention how good i burn today sounds live! sister isabel was another suprising song (didnt see that one coming). And the even tho weve heard the pixies songs millions of times i do think its good for the non hardcore frank fans cause it gives them a chance to sing along, and its cool that he plays with the timing fo the songs. I think i was dreaming about him playing abstract plain twice (someone will have to confirm thsi for me). california bound is also sick cause u get to see him in odd vocals mode

Sorry guys, i stayed with friends in Queens, so after sleeping and eating breakfast, i just got home.

So, here are some details:

First of all, thanks to all the random podcast listeners who came up to me and said hi and/or bought me a drink. Special thanks to Mike, Mia, and Mark for being great people and fun to talk to.

Set 1:
FB messed with a lot of the arrangements of the songs - for instance, in "Nadine," he sang the bridge again at the end of the song again. The new version of "Wave of Mutilation" is so great - acoustic guitar and screamy vocals - the melody is almost completely transformed. And yes, Violet confirmed that the song is called "Rabbit Hole" - at least for now. During "The Swimmer" he (i think) messed up the chords under the word "pelagic" and so he sang it four times, each time with a different chord behind it - VERY cool and different. The crowd did some nice background vocals on "Headache." "Storage" was great - the end part was very cool - FB strummed, almost mandolin-style, the chords and sang the lines over it. During "Cactus" he elongated the verses quite a bit - taking extra time between each line. He also spelled out T.Rex instead of Pixies - and then said "That's the name of the club i'm going to open - TREX -i'll perform there once a week - aa 5 o'clock matinee." During "I'll Be Blue" FB messed up the chords on the line "I didn't know my place at all." He stopped and said "You know, that's funny, the lyrics are about me not knowing my place, and i really don't." "All Around The World" was similar to the unreleased HONEYCOMB version, a nice surprise. During "California Bound" he sang the guitar solo which was different and cool. "Humboldt County Massacre," as always, was a pleasure to hear live. During "I'm Not Dead (I'm in Pittsbugh)" someone started screaming at FB - something about "Play it like the album" or something - this was the only part of the set that FB seemed a bit disturbed. He said something along the lines of "You know, this is a bar, so i can't tell you to be quiet, so make all the noise you want." The guy didn't stop and FB yelled out "HEY, WHERE'S KIM DEAL?" Hi-larious. "Adda Lee" was such a shock to hear, but a great surprise. For "Massif Central," FB didn't go up to the falsetto for the 2nd verse.

Set 2:
"Two Reelers" was great - really hurky-jerky and manic - totally a highlight for me. But the lynchpin of the set, for me, was the "Big Red" - "Space is Gonna Do Me Good" section. Both songs were a huge shock and sounded great. The ending vocal parts of "Big Red" were sung (ba ba ba ba) and sounded so great. "Cactus" was far more straightforward this set. "I've Seen Your Picture"-"Billy Radcliffe"-"Living on Soul" was a great trio as well - "Radcliffe" also had the crowd singing back at FB. "Czar" and "Abstract Plain" were fantastic as well. Sorry for the lack of comments on this set - i was with friends for this one, and took more time to just soak it in and enjoy it.

SkateAlex, i was not near the stage. I was on the little raised area for the 2nd set, at a table for the first set. Always nice to see Reid Paley as well - Reid is a great guy. I got to meet a lot of cool people, including Miss Violet, who was lovely and very kind to me. And again i got to communicate for a few minutes with FB himself, who was far kinder and generous than anyone could expect. Thanks Charles, Violet and Reid. All in all, one of the best nights of recent memory.

Well, that 1st show was incredible!!! Brian, it was great to meet you and I wish we were able to get there earlier & chill with the present forum members, but we hit the worst traffic arond the Holland T./Canal Street. Anyway, I'd have to say that Humboldt, Storage, Swimmer and the New Wave were amazing and Adda Lee was downright breathtaking!!! Definitely going to Irving Plaza, working on Warsaw.

Wow what a fantastic show. I went to the early show, Besides those two idoits making all the noise (who were standing right next to me) it was a great set. ADDA LEE was a definite highllight. And, if I do say so myself we (the audience) did a pretty good job with the harmonies on Headache ;)

I've been going to FB shows since 94 and I've never seen him so verbose with the audience. Part of that was him getting pissed at the loud drunk fanboys, but it was nice to see him chatting and generally having a good time (i hope).

Brian/Broken Face- cool to meet you after the first set. See ya at Warsaw or Irving!

Hi guys. I videotaped the first set. As soon as I figure out how, I'll put it online. I managed to mount my camera on top of that picture booth to the left of the stage. It's a great still shot and I got the whole set. I actually was videotaping the second set from a different vantage point (on top of the icebox towards the back(zoomed in) but I left my camera there for a few minutes and when I came back to check on it after the 3rd song, it was gone. You can only imagine my pain, especially considering the fact that it was a $650 camera which I bought 3 days ago and I don't make much money. It was suggested to me that I ask the sound guys, but they said they hadn't seen it. It sort of ruined the rest of the show for me. Actually, I decided that it was meant to be and that I should focus on the now and enjoy the show. Though, I was sad. Long story short. After the show, when most of the people had cleared out, I decided to ask the bartender if he had seen it. I really didn't think that there was any use in asking him..........but wait! Yes! He knew who had it. He had confiscated it and given it to some other guy who works there. They gave it back but also gave a lecture on how I should have asked if I could record first, because Frank's road manger does not approve.
Anyway, I got it back! My relief is indescribable. Thanks for reading my long-winded story. Billy Radcliff was sick, as was California Bound, I've Seen Your Picture and many others. I liked that Frank was talkative as well. So I'll post it ASAP.

Thanks Brian. I think I might have seen you on the 2nd level area without realizing it. I was wearing a white mets hat some of the time and was sort of dancing. Anyway, how do I upload digital video to this or another site. I''m no computer wiz. If it's too hard to explain, don't worry. I guess I'll figure it out somehow.

I almost wore my Mets hat, but decided against it last minute. That would've been a surefire way to spot each other.

Anyway, if the file is broken up, i would suggest maybe putting them all up on yousendit (www.yousendit.com - you need to register, but its free) and show us the links that way.

Any other ideas folks?

Depending on size, etc we may be able to host it track-by-track. That would probably make it more accessible, too.
