I think Tony's Theme is the only Pixies song that I don't like.

Silver is not so bad, the trouble is, it's just before Gouge Away.

That's what makes Silver as good as it is... it's like a teaser to Gouge Away. Builds the tension. |

Awe-C'mon! Stormy weather is one of the greats!! What is wrong with you people? Yet another one of his atmospheric songs about the weather, just like his water songs, Stormy weather has a nice rolling humid feel like thick clouds moving in!
I sing it at the top of my lungs on the way to the surf! Listen to it again outside-you'll see...

Maybe the worst is La La Love You. i like it, Lovering's crooner voice makes it funny, but it's really not a good song. He should just keep on playing the drums.

I've decided I don't really like Blown Away, having listened to Bossanova the other day.
They got a ranch they call No. 51! |

Motorway is a good song...but definitely towards the bottom of my list as far as Pixies tunes go. It just kind of bores me sometimes, I guess. |

I only actually read the lyric's to Blown Away about a year ago, and Bossanova was the first Pixies album I got(91 or 92), I used to just make up all my own lyrics (cause they did'nt come with the cassette and I liked it better that way)!, but that song sounded even cooler when I actually knew what the fuckin lyrics were!

i'm terrible. i never read any part of the cover sleeves. i didn't know kim deal sang on little trouble girl til i was thinkin i was crazy for recognising the voice! oh, and my friends borrow my cds(without the box) and one didnt know they were sayin 'this monkey's gone to heaven' or 'here comes your man'. if she ever hears me sing stuff she's like, 'oh, is that what they're sayin'? i dont blame her, i still dont know what he's sayin in the verse of... a lot of stuff. actually, i thought he was just blatently shoutin shit on river euphrates, not 'ride a tire down river euphrates'. i just sang along as 'rye rye rye rye ryatia!'i thought they just liked rye bread.

Heh... I always thought it was 'ride the tiger to the river Euphrates'. Which, as stupid as it sounds, makes a little sense since the 'Tigris' river joins with the Euphrates, as everybody knows. Well, everybody I know. |

hahahaha, yeah, i thought the EXACT same thing until pretty recently. I just envisioned some guy on a huge tiger's back, running down on the side of the river. "Tire" makes a lot more sense though. |

Alright, I've read as much as I can take...
I think that what we all have to remember is that "the worst" Pixies (or for that matter Frank Black) song is still far better than most bands' best song. Arachuig/8ballJoe have it right.
Silver - just think of it as a teaser for Gouge Away. Makes Gouge Away that much more awesome when it hits.
Bailey's Walk Not horrible... the lyrics are somewhat enjoyable.
Into The White No explanation needed, quite awesome. The bass line rocks.
Cecilia Ann I can't even believe this song gets skipped by anyone! An amazing instrumental. I think, Brackish Girl, you just need a little more listening time any you will realize the brilliance of this, not to mention all the other great songs that you find dull like All Over The World. Everyone knows that this stuff takes a few listens to appreciate.
Stormy Weather Another great song - the song itself feels like stormy weather, especially at/after the 55 second mark.
Levitate Me I don't know that anyone listed this as the worst, but for awhile I sure didn't like it. It took me TWO YEARS to like it, but now I love it too, so sometimes you just have to be in the right frame of mind. Plus, skipping that track all the time really didn't help me grow to appreciate it. I only wish there were more songs that I didn't like so that I could discover them to.
Above all, the words "Skip" and "Pixies" should never be put together.
This is right. This is truth. The songs above are some of my favorite Pixies songs. There is no bad Pixies song, There are only songs that you prefer more at certain times. |

I'm probably the only person in the WORLD that doesn't really like Planet of Sound... it dates back to a couple years ago when I first got into Trompe and I listened to Alec Eiffel a frizillion times a day. I tend to feel a little animosity toward the song preceding a favorite song... plus Frank's voice kind of scares me in Planet.

I love this topic
My list...of least favourite pixies songs:
1) Silver 2) Build High 3) Manta Ray 4) La la love you 5) Broken Face
Of course these five are still sublime compared to the garbage on radio today.
I'm amazed at how many people hate my favourite songs! "Bird dream of the Olympus Mons" is gorgeous, it fairly stirs my soul. I adore "Motorway" and "Memphis"...and my ex- and I both loved "Gigantic" (I suspect this is because he has had a crush on Kim for 15 years).
I agree with whomever said that it's personal, and it's ever-changing. There are songs I didn't care for 11 years ago that affect me profoundly now. Can't wait to see what I feel like in 2013...

I'll contribute my opinion and say that "Stormy Weather" is a bad song for the Pixies. It just does not match up with some of the genius melodies such as......well, I think everyone can think of something. With all due respect, "All Over the World" is a true song of greatness and I was shocked when someone said that they did not care too much for it (unless I read the reply incorrectly; after all, I was not paying that much attention). My opinion may not matter, but I enjoy sharing opinions with others and I do not think I do any harm to anyone when I post my opinion.
