Tobafett, Don't you think those guys (!!!), sound a lot like Clash? Or is it just me?

They suck. Really.
We were sat sort of above and behind the stage on the weird balcony deal they have at the Mean Fiddler in London, and you could see the crowd and the top/back of the band. It sounded like they were just playing the same song over and over. I think I left after the fifth repeat.
Just my arrogant opinion.

The Cranberries (that band from Limerick) - Liar, from the Empire Records ST.

I just downloaded it today, and I didn't like it that much upon first listen, but it's growing on me.

I've been trying to get into 'Nine Black Alps' but I just can't get past 'cosmopolitan'. the first verse just reminds me too much of the stereophonics (just the vocals), which leaves a sour taste in my mouth. the only other song i have is 'shot down', both downloads.
thinking about grabbing some more tracks now, any recommendations?

Erm, good luck. They are the only two singles so far. It is possible to download 'Not Everyone', but it's a crappy broken 4 track version. If you don't like the singles then I doubt you will like that.

Don't ever go into music journalism though fbc, you are the first person to ever hear The Stereophonics in them.

Yeah, career well avoided...

lovin' the drum roll, the SY riff at the start and then "you're not pretty e-nough, you're not skinny e-nough"...thats the part that reminds me, not the music itself, just those lyrics and the way it's sung.

oh, and i'm sorry to have mentioned the phonics both on this forum and in relation to NBA, it was hard for me just typing the name

Haha, you must understand that comparing a band that someone really likes to The Stereophonics, in any way, will only displease and bewilder them.

Seriously, I just don't see the vocal resemblance other than they are both male. Kelly Jones has a much more powerful voice for a start.

oh no, not my intentions.

i'm trying to think of the song it reminded me of (just a little bit), but the more i think about it the more i just hear the Black Alps song, which is very very good. anything that wipes out the memory of those welsh rockers. it was only those first two lines, other than that, my comparison is and was both unjust and way off the mark. i'm loving catching up on a new band for the record.

hey, i'm going through a spell of checking out Fbs influences and came across Johnny Horton

Is his song 'I Hate Niggers' for real, does anybody know?

i know it was written in a different place in time, i was just wondering whether to take the song so literally or if it's being sarcastic and taking the pee out of rascists, it caught me off guard a little.
