Thanks for the news Dave, but do you have any more info? Do you know who Frank is recording with in Nashville, or is it "nameless" session musicians?

Wow, thanks for the news! I'll be in Memphis next week so maybe I'll see Frank while I'm there (or it's probably just wishful thinking). Any word on where exactly he's recording?

this just furthers my belief that this guy is the most dedicated musician out there. even with a HUGE payday coming up retreading his old band, he's still recording stuff up until the last minute to satisfy his own creative urges. Cheers Charles!

I'm hoping to meet him in a non "fan at the concert" sort of way, too. But we'll see.

Whoa, I just thought how cool it would be if Frank played a "secret" Catholics or even Pixies show while he's up there and I got to go, but once again I doubt that will happen

This was mentioned before, that he was going to be recording his next "solo" album with seasoned musicians in Nashville. So I don't think it is Pixies... |

If it was just a post, I might think it was an april fools joke, but I son't think Dave would put it in the news section if it was. And it was all done on the 31st. But you never know...

Just got word that yesterday (Frank's first day in the studio with the Nashville crew) was very succesful and they laid down quite a few tracks.
No idea when we'll see this thing on shelves, but the way FB works, maybe even this fall? They recorded SMYT last spring and it was done by fall, so who knows. That'd be pretty sweet to have a new FB album come out AND have him touring with the Pixies.

The schrimp song! great! Is every band member translating that one in another language while recording?

Damnit! Nashville is three hours away from where I live (well, two and a half if I drive 90 mph). No telling when I'll get to see either Frank Black & the Catholics OR the Pixies this year.
Take me, break me, tell me a good one and maybe I'll cry

Hey, maybe we can get an Ozzfest style Catholics/Pixies double header this summer? That would be seriously cool.

Can I, by just looking at the track listing and additional players, already say that I love this album? Is that going too far?

It would be swell if all the tracks up there were hyperlinks ... My ears want to hear them! I tried pressing on the screen too, but I'm thinking its not going to work |

Great news Frank. The Selkie Bride? Are you exploring Celtic mythology now? As for "Dark End of the Street" - I can hear Em (Ramona) screaming for joy. Is DEOTS not a Penn/Oldham original?
