'DON'T PLAY WITH YOUR FOOD!' Yeah, it's annoying....and they force parents to buy the same meal for their kids so they can collect the full set of figures, etc.

Actually, saying "I'm going to go play with lego" sounds more retarded to me.
So, ok, what if you were handing your friend 27 different blocks of this toy... would you say:
a) "Here is your Lego, Timmy" b) "Here are your Lego, Timmy" c) "Here are you Legos, Timmy"
I'm sorry, folks, sometimes you have to say Legos. You people across the Atlantic need to look at yourselves in the mirror and make sure you know just who you are.

Uh, I'm a girl, but thanks, Homer's Pet Monkey.
Btw, why shouldn't we call them Legos? That's what they are called here, even in the commercials....this smacks of an international conspiracy!
Sorry Jenny, I wasn't paying attention but even if I had of been, I had no idea you were female (your toy list certainly didn't seem gender specific)!!!
Some very interesting art at your homepage btw. I like it. I can see why you were so creative as a child now (toy wise).
Thank you Homer's Pet Monkey, I appreciate the compliment. It's been a long time since I was in the art world, so every good word means a lot.
You didn't mention - what do you guys call Legos over there? Have we been saying it wrong all these years? Wouldn't surprise me I guess, I just recently found out we've been misspelling aluminium, and the whole time I thought you were all just adding extra syllables for the heck of it.

As for LEGO, well erm it's LEGO!!! That's it, simple as!!! No such thing as LEGOS. Sounds like one of the Muskateers!!!

Hehehehehehehe!!! I have just been browsing that LEGO site and I found this question in the 'Building Tips' section:
Name : Alex Age : 9 Question : Why can't the LEGO company make LEGO pieces that stay stuck together!?
Hahahahahahaaaaaaaaa!!! What a dumbass!!! I mean, if they listened to him then you wouldn't be able to make anything else after you first build, 'cos all the pices would be stuck together. Hehehehe!!! What a dumb kid. HEY EVERYONE!!! LAUGH AT THE DUMB KID!!! LAUGH AT STUPID ALEX!!! STUPID ALEX, STUPID ALEX!!! NER NER NE NER NERRRRRRRRRRR!!!

We know that it says "LEGO" on the box, but there are some times when saying "legos" seems perfectly acceptable.

I'd say "Legos" is short for "Lego blocks," just like "Oreos" is short for "Oreo cookies." It's appropriate when referring to multiple units of the product, but maybe not when talking about the product itself. I don't know.

Yeah, me neither. I don't think I ever even got to play on either one. The boy who lived next door when I was 7 had a Sit 'n' Spin, which I used to get really dizzy on while watching Dukes of Hazzard and the A Team in their basement.
He had the Big Wheel that I used to get to play with too. Those were damn fun spinnin' out!

Not a very old toy, but one that was around when I was younger, was Gator Golf. Never had the pleasure of owning one, but did enjoy playing with it at a friend's house. I don't really remeber the game much, but remember the catch phrase. "What could be greater than golf with a gator?" Looking back now, that doesn't make much sense, but it entertained me when I was a little kid.

Hey, I've missed out on some serious Lego action here.
Lego was my main source on playing material in the early 70's. Also played with toy soldiers and dabbled with meccano (American sp: meccanos)
I am officially one of the older (and therefore wiser) members of this forum and played with this popular toy at an earlier date than most of you lot. It is distinctly, incontrovertibly, unarguably singular
There can be no further debate. The whole of America is wrong. All 250,000,000 of you.
Thank you.
[happy to accept the concept of Oreos though]
