I don't mean to make it a trend, but take me off the list too. I was already thinking about asking before formeremployee posted. He expressed some of the doubts I've been having the past day, along with my own increased concern that my particular situation with getting Davis tickets is too complex for the constraints of this ticket sharing agreement. When this was still a small number of people I thought it could work for my situation, but now I think it will be unfair to everyone including my friends helping me get tickets if I participate. Plus, I have tickets to other shows and it's not as crucial for me to have the tickets as it is for a lot of others here, even though Davis is one of my "priority" shows.
I wish you all much good luck!! And I hope I'll end up with extras to offer on the forum anyway! |

I agree that tickets are going to be VERY hard to get for this show and it's not even clear to me what is the best way to get them (ticket office or internet). But to me this makes this ticket sharing scheme even more important. We either need to organize this thing or break into smaller, more managable groups. If don't get organized, Monday afternoon there is going to be a flood people of wanting to join the scheme after they have struck out on their own. |

I'm assuming people will not be allowed to join the pool after tickets go on sale. After it's sold out we could take count of extras that are available and then get somebody like Cult of Frank & Speedy M or some other ostensibly disinterested party to conduct a simple lottery for allocation of the extras one by one. Folks with extras would then be put in contact with the wantee to which they have been assigned and the private parties make arrangement for exchange of ticket(s) and dollars. Something like that? Doable? Am I naive? |

This is all leaving me with an unsettling feeling in my stomach. Tickets shouldn't be this fucking hard to get. Not for the Pixies. Stupid media hype-machine!

I think there's a lot of people that didn't know the other shows went onsale until they heard they were sold out, and they're now, well, freaking out to get Davis tickets. Understandably! It is nerve wracking though. It's given a whole week for the entire Bay Area, as well as Pixies fans across the country who haven't got tickets already, to mobilize.
It's interesting that the Winnipeg thread was able to get organized and their ticket share is going well, but the Vancouver one isn't working, partly because almost no one was able to get extra tickets and partly because of less organization. I still think it's a good idea, especially for people that can simply say, "I just need a ticket to a Pixies show!" I can't say that this time around. Hoping if I don't get tickets I can trade for them. |

I'd agree that proper organization for the distribution of extra tickets is required to make this thing work. My suggestion would be to provide those who are on the list with at least one ticket for themselves and to ensure these people don't receive their tickets till the day of the show and, ideally, at some location near the venue prior to the start of the show. If I'm able to supply extra tickets, I want to avoid potential scalping efforts or people who aren't willing to make an decent effort to receive a ticket if needed. This will require further discussion but I'd thought I'd throw this idea out. I'm not sure exactly how they're doing things in Winnipeg but I've been hearing that they've been pretty good and honest on how the ticket allocation should work.
Also, I would suggest that anyone who joins this list/thread after tickets go on sale on 3/1 be left out to fend for themsleves. We definitely need a cutoff point for this and if we do find that we have more extra tickets available than the 1 ticket per person (on list), we should provide these people with the option of an additional ticket.

puck, that would be kinda rough for people coming in from out of town. a leap of faith to spend mega time & money with no ticket in hand, trusting a stranger to be there to make it all right. |

Yeah, I'd agree - a level of trust is hard enough to establish with people with whom I don't even know their first names... Any other ideas or suggestion would be great to hear.
With myself, I'm going to put a strong effort to get tickets on Monday and will definitely share at least two tickets with the group should I get the max 6. My spares will, of course, be sold at cost. Again, I just want to make sure that there aren't any potential scalpers lurking in here and looking for an easy way to pick up a ticket.

"has anyone seen anything like thishttp://www.ticketsellers.com/ResultsTicket.aspx?evtid=124783, ticketseller is an online broker/scalper and it appears that they have tickets to DAVIS show for sale now. how can this be?"
Ya! I just 2 seconds ago found something just like that online, except the ones I found were $215 each? How is this possible? |

I doubt they have the tickets yet, but they probably have so many leads or people working for them that they feel confident that they will get them. It's going to be a madhouse. I don't think the Davis ticket office has any plans to organize the line Mondy morning. |

Please add me to the the list for Davis tickets. I plan on getting *4* tickets (maybe more) but should only need *3*. I hope to offer at least one ticket (maybe more) here on the board. While this is my first pot, I have been "lurking: for months, so please don't hold that against me if I need a ticket. I do plan on recording the show if I go. Thanks.

I think if people are signing up for the ticket swapping pool they should be buying the maximum of 6 tickets if they get the chance. It doesn't does do us much good if someone is only going to buy 1 extra tickeet. |

Who's going to be at the ticket office tomorrow morning? I think I'm going to check it out early in the morning and if the line is too long or disorganized then switch to the internet. It's suppose to rain in morning. That might be good news for the hardcore fans. |

Oh no... I'm not feeling very good about my chances tomorrow. There's just going to be too many people trying to buy tickets all at once, that it almost seems impossible. If the ticket.com page gets overloaded, and it takes five minutes for the page to show up, then that it could be it right there, and they could all be gone by then. That'd be awful. Agh, I'm getting myself all psyched out. And then if a miracle happens and I do get some tickets, I haven't found very many leads so far as to anyone who can/will trade with me for Spokane tickets, which is my whole goal in doing this in the first place. I got my ticket off Ebay, so I'm set to go to the show regardless... but I won't have anyone, like my sister who is a huge Pixies fan, to share it with. This is depressing guys.
(sorry, everyone, I needed to whine a little bit... feel free to whine a little bit yourselves.) |

is there going to be a "Final" list posted? Did we ever absolutely agree on that cut off point? Otherwise this forum might be flooded in a few hours with folks who couldnt get tickets. |
