i just talked to UC Davis ticket office... they said that the tix they'll be selling next monday will come from the same pool of tix that tickets.com will be selling - they also said they anticipated people camping out over night.
damn, i hope we all get some! m.

I think sorrygoodfires is just stating if he gets Davis tickets he wants to trade for Spokane if anyone is up for that. I didn't think he meant he wanted Davis tickets through the ticket share if he doesn't get any. Is that right sorrygoodfires?
I re-did my math and it is actually potentially 18 extra tickets I could get. Forgot to include the 2 I want to use to trade. Sorry. I hope that doesn't take me off the list |

I think the lottery is a good idea. And as far as giving them to friends vs. putting them up for lottery-- I think the main idea here is "EXTRA" tickets. I don't think anyone should feel they need to give them to people on this list over their good friends who are also avid Pixies fans, especially if those friends are helping to try to get tickets!
But if you've got extra tickets, bringing them to this forum will be a fantastic way to spread the wealth amongst really big Pixies fans and help out those who are helping you (or others) out.
Lottery evens out the few hours difference between those who posted immediately to this list and those who maybe didn't come check the forum until after work, etc.
IDEA: Get anyone you know who can be in front of a computer at 10am Monday morning to try to get tickets. The more people we can get trying for tickets, the better. I realized that was my mistake on Saturday. I was the only one who was trying and I got locked out so there wasn't anything I could do! I didn't have a chance because no one else was trying. But the brilliant guy on the winnepeg list who has 18 tickets had, like, 10 people trying at the same time! A few didn't score at all, but in end it came out to his great advantage!
So if you can enlist anyone you know to do this for you, offer them a 6 pack or whatever. Just lets try for as many people as possible looking for tics!
Good luck!

Um... gee, I hope I'm included, 'cause I view this as my only chance to help out all my friends here in Spokane who missed out. Astrocat is absolutely correct, I do not desire to be part of the ticket share so that I can then trade those tickets for Spokane, I was merely informing all of you that I intend to by Davis tickets to trade for Spokane tickets in case anyone out there is able/willing to do that. And if I purchase some Davis tix, but am unable to trade them for Spokane tickets, then I will GLADLY SELL FOR COST. It just might take a me few days to find out if they are tradeable or not. That's part of the reason that I posted on here ahead of time was to see if anyone out there even had any Spokane tickets that they were willing to trade, 'cause if no one does, then I might not even bother trying to buy Davis tix. And I'm not even so sure that I'll be able to get any Davis tix... I've never done this sort of frantic "time-is-off-the-escence" ticket buying before, so I don't know how well I'll do. But I'll definitely be able to be here at my computer at 10am 'cause I work the graveyard shift and don't go to school or anything; it's just a matter of remembering to try, and I know I will. So how can I prove to you guys that I'm a good guy? I don't have the money or time off work to fly down to Davis and see the show down there, or else I totally would, so that's why I'm trying to trade. I'm pretty sure that you guys would try to do the same thing if you were in my situation, am I wrong? If you have any questions, or want to talk about a possible trade, or just want to see if I seem like a nice guy, you can e-mail me at mylifeinreverse@hotmail.com or contact me on AIM, username = sorrygoodfires.
Thanks. |

I don't think anyone was qustioning your intentions. (maybe they were, I don't know) I just think they meant that since you aren't looking to go to the Davis show - just hoping to buy tickets to trade for spokane tickets - you wouldn't be interested in entering a lottery AFTER everyone has tried to buy tickets just to trade them again.
I think most of us who are interested in the lottery or resell opportunity are doing so in hopes to get tickets to this show. I think if you get tickets to the Davis show at the time of sale than you're putting this out there for others who might want to trade for Spokane tickets, but not necessarily looking for people to sell you tickets afterwards just so you can trade them?
Correct me if I'm misinterpretting! |

Exactly. I do not desire tickets from the ticket-share in order to trade them for Spokane. I merely intend on purchasing 6 tickets for Davis at 10am on the 1st and attempting to trade them for Spokane tickets. Assuming that I am successful in purchasing Davis tickets, but unsuccessful in trading for Spokane tickets, you guys can get my Davis tickets from me for cost. Obviously, I would much prefer to trade them for Spokane, so if anyone out there who has tickets to Spokane but would prefer tickets to Davis please let me know now that you might be interested in getting Davis tickets from me in the event that you are not able to purchase any yourself. Um, I hope that I made my intentions clear for you guys. Again, I do not desire tickets from the ticket-share to use toward trading for Spokane, but rather I am an option for you guys out there who want tickets for the Davis but are unable to get any, or need more. This is all assuming that a) I get through to purchase tickets on the 1st, and b) that I cannot trade those tickets for Spokane. I hope I was able to clear everything up. But if you have any questions, you can e-mail me at mylifeinreverse@hotmail.com or contact me on AIM, username = sorrygoodfires.
Thanks. |

Yeah, and I made another one post too... I guess we're both online at the same time. I have to go now though... my band's playing a show. It looks like you understand where I'm coming from though.
Also, if someone going to the Spokane show needs a place to stay, my apartment is available...
Later. |

I think we should do a lottery one ticket at a time. If you get what you've asked you then are taken out of the lottery otherwise you stay in until the tickets are gone.
Like I said my earlier post, I want 4 tickets for me and three friends, but I would be happy to settle for 1 ticket. I care about the show way more than my friends. |

that's why I think we should limit ourselves to 2 tickets each. That way, we all have a better chance of making it to the show. It would be a shame if some one didn't make it cause several people got four tickets each. If you really need to bring a few friends, maybe your group could then pitch in for a couple $90 tickets from ebay or wherever. But at least you and I will have a good chance of getting in. |

I have no problem limiting my request to 2. And, I don't think anybody should get 2 tickets before everyone else gets 1 (and so on). |

Hi I'm going to need FOUR tickets because 3 friends of mine and myself are going to drive up to Davis for a road trip.
Three of us have credit cards, so we will all call and attempt to buy six tickets each.
The outcome could be either 0, 6, 12, or 18 tickets, but as soon as we get four I'll make sure the rest are given away to you guys. Thanks :-)

they say on their website that their phone lines are very limited. you'll probably get a busy signal. If you can get online, i think that would be a better bet than all 3 of you trying the phones. |

that's a much better idea than calling the Davis box office. they will hopefully have more phone lines. |

hey all.
thanks for the pre-registration tip (;
I'm going to buy 6 if i'm able to, 1 or 2 of which might very well be extras (maybe more if my friends have luck in scoring their own tix)
So, add me to the list

I need 2 tickets, but I'm gonna try for more, if I get more, I'll distribute them amongst the group. But if I get none then I'll have to rely on this thing actually working! I hope it does.

I'm taking myself out of the loop here. It just looks a little too messy with too many people, and I questionhow this can run smoothly. I could potentially tell ten of you that I didn't get tickets, and get a couple from each of you. I'm thinking that personal alliances between two or three people will prove much more fruitful in regards to order and honesty. Still, if I end up with extras I will come here first to offer them, but I just want to be honest ahead of time for all of you. There are a lot of eyes on this sale, as it's the last known sale in the U.S. and the only U.S. date within an hour's driving distance of a major metropolitan city; this could get messy. |
