I think a lone Cult of Ray head on a badge would look really smart and easy to spot. I haven't seen any badges with this on anywhere....

I think there were cult of ray promo badges around at the time of the album release. Still, pretty cool image.

If that's already been done, then how 'bout the "lucky cat" head from SMYT on a badge? Just an idea

I vote for actual t-shirts too
and maybe a button for people who want to wear something else to a concert
or dress sexy
like ramona

yes, let's make it a bargain. I mean a t-shirt and a button (since a button is not that expensive, I guess I choose that one over a badge, the badge has to go, In my opinion)
keep both sides happy

let's cut to the case and get on with it!

Cause how cool the pixies reunion is, fb is our (my) main interest.
When I think of it, let's discuss what should be on the shirt.
I think it should happen.

"I joined the Cult of Frank/Nobody wanted to join my Culf"

Not mine!!! I prefer the Pixies which is why I will be wearing one of my Pixies t-shirts with great pride!!!

It's not cool to wear a t-shirt of the band you are seeing. Only if you buy it at the gig and the only place to put it is on your body. That is the only exception.

"Our Love is Rice and Beans and Horses Lard"

Thanks for that you dedicated follower of fashion. I am not cool so I don't care. Like Kurt sang, I'd rather be dead than cool. I can't believe you live your life by fashion's rules. You're sad pal!!! I mean seriously who makes up these rules anyway? Who the hell said "Oh no you can't wear a t-shirt of the band you are going to see at the actual gig".? It's showing your support in a visual way, showing that you're not there to see the RHCP or 'cos you watched Fight Club last night.

Now where did I put my wrist band and trucker's cap? - DOH!!!

uhm I think Thomas wasn't really serious here. It was more like a joke, a good one too, well maybe not a joke, just some inside how the indie world often works. It is indeed sort of uncool to wear a shirt of the band that's playing, no you wear a shirt of another band just to show off how much you know about music

"I joined the Cult of Frank/Nobody wanted to join my Culf"

Hmm yeah! Was kind of kidding myself Bill, hence my last line inc. smiley?

Having said that I intend to ignore you both as the day I take fashion tips from a 36 year old member of the NYPD and a Dutchman is the day I wanna die!!! (notice the smiley again, that means I'm kidding!!!)

Even worse: wearing a shirt of the band that's playing, that you made by yourself, by painting the band's name. That is the uncoolest thing ever.

Denis

Very, very, VERY good point!!! You claim that I shouldn't wear my Pixies t-shirt to the gig and then go and suggest this. If anything is uncool (and don't forget I wasn't the one who said anything was) then it's this idea!!!

I vote button! (or the afore mentioned BUTTOM - ha!) And I still think the FB.Net My Name Is ______________ thing is super cute. But maybe you boys don't like that. You wouldn't even have to fill it in, just be mysterious! I think it is good b/c it advertises the site; shows that you are a FRANK BLACK fan; and announces you to other FB.net heads. Plus, it's just funny - in a silly ironic way.

That is all.

I will look cool in my white t-shirt with a pink flying Pixies Pig on it !

Hey Perk - bonus points for you. =)

PM me, and i'll send you a bigger Photoshop file that might turn out a bit nicer.

I *love* the name tag idea...would it be possible to get a badge/patch made up, with a blank space that you could use a Sharpie on, to write your own name/handle in on?

This could be *very* cool...

Those buttons are the shit
FB.net my name is Billgoodman

the only thing is that maybe people will checkout
fb.net instead of frankblack.net

As said before I think why should also do t-shirts

Well, with the FB Net Hello My Name is ____________ thing we could also have www.frankblack.net written underneath or something, to deal with the mysterious "FB Net" problem.

I think shirts AND buttons are a good idea. But how big is a BIG button? That scares me a little. I think like two inches big (both width and height) would be good. Too big would be really dorky. Well, even more dorky then it already is.

I just noticed the name change of this topic. Ha!

I like the fb.net shirt idea....I'm not quite sure how I would incorporate a button into my life. I suppose I could put it somewhere.

It would be really cool to see some people on these boards at a show wearing the shirt. Just to be able to easilly recognize friend from foe.

I gotta' say, I'm not a big fan of the "My name is:" idea, but it seems I'm in the minority so I've just been mum on it.

Of course, I liked the idea of a big Cult of Frank head and fb.net on top, so who am I to judge? :)

anyone here going to see them open for RHCP in Paris? I guess it would take a lot to see a button down on the field of an areana, but I'd love to wear one. And maybe, just maybe I'd spot one of you!

these are both fantastic ideas!

so is there someone designated chief executive of this project, or is it just going to meander along with no actual "things" being produced?

Yes, benji I'm afraid it's gonna be the last one
someone should stand up and do it
I have no knowledge about tshirts or buttons
so someone else should do it
and hey
it was my idea afterall, that rules me out
some people get ideas
the more gifted ones
make something of ideas
