Prelude:
Cause how cool the pixies reunion is, fb is our (my) main interest. When I think of it, let's discuss what should be on the shirt. I think it should happen.
"I joined the Cult of Frank/Nobody wanted to join my Culf"
Not mine!!! I prefer the Pixies which is why I will be wearing one of my Pixies t-shirts with great pride!!!
It's not cool to wear a t-shirt of the band you are seeing. Only if you buy it at the gig and the only place to put it is on your body. That is the only exception.
"Our Love is Rice and Beans and Horses Lard"
Thanks for that you dedicated follower of fashion. I am not cool so I don't care. Like Kurt sang, I'd rather be dead than cool. I can't believe you live your life by fashion's rules. You're sad pal!!! I mean seriously who makes up these rules anyway? Who the hell said "Oh no you can't wear a t-shirt of the band you are going to see at the actual gig".? It's showing your support in a visual way, showing that you're not there to see the RHCP or 'cos you watched Fight Club last night.
Now where did I put my wrist band and trucker's cap? - DOH!!!
uhm I think Thomas wasn't really serious here. It was more like a joke, a good one too, well maybe not a joke, just some inside how the indie world often works. It is indeed sort of uncool to wear a shirt of the band that's playing, no you wear a shirt of another band just to show off how much you know about music
"I joined the Cult of Frank/Nobody wanted to join my Culf"
Hmm yeah! Was kind of kidding myself Bill, hence my last line inc. smiley?
Having said that I intend to ignore you both as the day I take fashion tips from a 36 year old member of the NYPD and a Dutchman is the day I wanna die!!! (notice the smiley again, that means I'm kidding!!!)
Even worse: wearing a shirt of the band that's playing, that you made by yourself, by painting the band's name. That is the uncoolest thing ever.
Denis
Very, very, VERY good point!!! You claim that I shouldn't wear my Pixies t-shirt to the gig and then go and suggest this. If anything is uncool (and don't forget I wasn't the one who said anything was) then it's this idea!!!
Just wanted to see how much freakier this would look.

I am confused. The person's account gets locked? If they quote what item? Your item? The thing about t-shirts?
I'm pretty sure you mean to keep quoting the quote that Bill Goodman started, but I'm not 100% sure, so I'll ask and get 1 step closer to Teenager of the Year. |

I love this idea, and I have to say I would like to have the choice of a t-shirtand/or a buttom. Maybe the shirt could be one design, and the "buttom" could have the "Hi, my name is______", as buttons are generally more name-tag oriented. If we could get the t-shirt in girl-type sizes, rather than wait-til-it-shrinks-in-the-dryer-for-the-1000th-time sizes, that would rock.
I just have one question (and maybe it's already been addressed, so sorry in advance if that's the case): If this little thing is gonna make money, I'm hoping that the Pixies/FB managers/merchandising/tour company doesn't have a problem with the use of the name or any album art or logo we might use. Sorry to bring it up, but it might be a valid issue to check into before we really get gung-ho into this. It'd just be good to know it's copacetic.

Yeah Thomas and I are just messing around. Hey Thomas, just for you I am not gonna wear my Pixies t-shirt to the gig on the Wednesday. I am gonna wear my green Cheers one instead, that way I still get to retain a Pixies link. |

So that is what makes that happen!!! That really annoys me too so I completely agree with you and must apologise for my unintentional 'part to play' in that. |

LONG do i visualise t-shirt ideas for some strange un-explained reason and recently i have seen a pixies-FB-FB&C's-breeders-FBF-pixies montage shirt. usually my t-shirt ideas revolve around spoofs of goofy clothing brand names like 'it's a tshirt-gofiger' instead of tommy hilfiger etc. the cool shirt would be a subtle but potent image of frankie that would make a harley davidson t-shirt nut jealous. then across the back in a classic font would be the owners username from FB.net, across the bottom of the back: FB.net. obviously only people from this site would buy them and wear them thus creating a means of identifying an FB brother or sister wherever... i'm willing to produce them for cost if the demand exists.

Hey guys - unfortunately i don't have a lot of time to put into this right now..
Jop - keep on organizing this! I'd suggest getting and organizing idea's for shirts, etc, then get pick a few, then get visuals available for people, then we can figure out the manufacturing.
Thoughts?

Dave How about posting the Pixies Pig file on the ftp sever ? I like the idea of printing frankblack.net under the pig on a t-shirt ?

Picapiedra's idea is interesting but I suspect a bit too complex to control quality when transferred onto a t shirt.
I think ProverbialCereal's first idea is best. Keep it simple. White text on black cotton for me.
Maybe Dave N's pigxsie could sit below the text?
And on the back I still reckon some text would be appropriate. High up above the shoulder blades. I can't think of anything better than "Serving fans since 1826"

I agree. "A dancing bear free zone" would be somewhat enigmatic.

I agree, if it's going to be a shirt. There should be a white area below the text though to write in our names/handles with a marker.

Nice, nice, nice
I'm for the Dancing Bear Free Zone and (serving fans since 1826 is nice too, can we do a survivor with these two, shouldn't be too hard?)
As for White shirt with black letters: no... I always spill my ketchup and white shirts suck in hiding ketchup stains

I still want a button! Just Frank Black.net would be okay with me. I don't really care what wins actually. I will wear it with pride!

Buttons can be made and ordered via this website (US based I think). Haven't found a UK one yet. Which side of the pond is best for this?
http://www.buttonking.com/bk2/product.php?p=FullColorBut
They can also make backstage passes! Maybe the fb.net badge could be in that form.

buttons and t-shirts was the idea right?
don't worry ramona, you can still look sexy at the gigs (how many times do I have to bring up that? I love to type it, mmmm, sexy, sexy, sexy, sexy, sexy, sexy, sexy, sexy, ok, I'm over it now)

Although black T-shirts look cool, I hardly ever wear them because their too damn hot. Keep that in mind for outdoor festival T-shirt usage. So if not white shirts, how does every one feel about white hats? Probably too expensive, right?
Is too complex for T-shirt quality control a compliment or an insult? ;-) -roger.
