Makes me wonder why all these gems have been ignored for decade. I'm dying to hear the others (Bird/Palace/Memphis/Space)

It is killing me I can't see these shows of performances from my two favorite Pixies albums. |

Especially when quite a few of them were staples of the 1990-92 sets!
I can get why they're not massive fans of 'Dig For Fire' for example - live performances on occasion sound like they're on the verge of falling apart.
But imagine not wanting to play a song like 'Hang Wire' though! |

That Lovely Day was great
That one almost sounds like it could have fit on Come On Pilgrim
I’m still hoping they’ll add Boss/ TLM b-sides. I’d rather hear those than HCYM or Monkey etc |

True for Dig. Strange cause that’s a pretty straightforward song to play. Same for Letter to Memphis and Trompe (the song), both weren’t that great Live in 91-92 either. As for Hang Wire, go figure

I've actually never thought that Motorway live was anywhere near as good as the album either. Maybe I missed the best versions though? |

That Brixton 91 version of Motorway sounds excellent with the dual rhythm guitars. Always pleased to hear it these days since it was brought back, but it misses the EDF keys.
Just watched Dublin night 2's version of Letter to Memphis on the Facebook group, and it sounds excellent.
Unlike most of the 91/92 performances, it's in the original key, with Charles playing the white pickguard Tele tuned up half a semitone. Same guitar that's often used for Velouria and Havalina. |

I was there tonight…can confirm, an excellent show (as it should be for the price ;-) ). BF even sings the Perry Mason theme.
The Trompe stuff which had prominent EDF keys on the album would benefit from them live (but it’s a minor quibble). But the songs which are a riot of guitar overdubs on record are rendered brilliantly.
Emma Richardson (excellent, btw) got an on stage shoutout, and BF jokingly checked he’d got her surname right. |

Yeah, it’s a real treat to hear these songs live. Charles sounds great too. Pixies 1.0 has so many gems it’s unreal. The songwriting run BF was one is insane. |

Vegas Suite sounds a bit Bluefinger-y (and The Lord Has Come Back Today). |

Totally! Very interested if the recording sounds anything like the Mellow bare bones tracks on Bluefinger or the lush production of Doggerel

Great videos. Wish I could be there for one of these.

The crowd was singing along to Joey's guitar line from Debaser!? Not sure if I've seen that at a show... ever. |

I made a full recording of last night's gig (audio) and am working on it now. Will share it here when ready! Unfortunately they did not do the new song which I was really hoping for, but such a great gig. Crowd went wild for the last few Doolittle songs! I felt a bit out of place then because that's the excitement I felt for Bossa and Trompe, and have seen the Doolittle stuff enough at this stage haha but yeah re:singing along to guitar melodies etc. that's the kind of energy you can get at Irish gigs, I can see why they keep coming back here |

Look forward to that auxfnx.
I was at the National Stadium, Dublin, 1st Oct 1990 for the Bossanova tour. First time they had played in the Ireland (Belfast day before I think). First time to see them. 19 years old. Total carnage on the main floor. |

That must have been an amazing show Sprite, would love to hear more.
I saw them two years later in NYC 1992, and yes, carnage pretty well describes moments on the main floor as well. |

The support at the Stadium gig was the Pale Saints. Last night it was the Pale White. Cue twilight zone music. Last night was excellent. |

I counted the time elapsed between the end of Cecilia Ann and the start of Rock Music during the March 10th show. It was 3 seconds. (Not bad.) I think they can get it down to a spry 2. |
