                      | Yeah, I'm starting a rumour right now.
Somebody called "Black Francis Private" and "Joey Santiago" on Facebook have recently liked a post from me, from 3 years ago:

It was a reply to the official Pixies Page saying 'Pre-order the new limited 30th anniversary edition of the album on red vinyl now ahead of release on August 7th."

I replied: Do you plan to release a boxset too? Where's my boxset?

Liked (using the love icon) by BF and JS? Our heroes?

Why would you do that, 3 years AFTER my reply?

Looks like the North American tour has picked up on the East Coast with some nice sets. Good to see Doggerel tunes generously sprinkled in amongst the classics.

I guess it's telling that it never even occurred to me to go see them even though they were down the block playing 2 nights.

That's too bad to hear - I had a great time at the Lewiston show! (As I mentioned in the other thread, I thought the new songs integrated nicely and was particularly glad to hear them play "Doggerel".)

Some great new dates are added
 https://www.instagram.com/p/C0ue6UMN-tP/

5 shows in the Netherlands in one year, wow!

 Two dates in Nijmegen!

That'll be like just after the Zomerfeest also - which I'm considering going to next year

Just busy working my arse off on a farm tattie picking right now so at this time I can now probably safely say I have the money to get over for the Bossa Trompe gigs in the Dam - now I'll have to buy another ticket

Goffert Park too - loads of huge bands play mini festivals there in the summer I heard Guns n Roses and Slayer and other bands from the outside back in the day

EDIT - just checked the ticket price - 65 Euro so basically 70 Euro once booking fees are added and all that - so maybe not..

I also just checked the Pixies website site tour dates and looks like there are still tickets for the Bossa Trompe gigs in the UK and Ereland but only Amsterdam has sold out

Another interesting point - I'm not sure Pixies have ever played Nijmegen but the last time Charles played there would have be on the SVN FNGRS tour in 2008

He has also not played any solo gigs in Europe since that

 they're all sold out.
pixiesmusic.com says so, too. (but they left the "tickets" button active. this is confusing.)

                      | Hotel Lux just confirmed they are the support act for the Wednesday at Paradiso ! 20/3 I'm so fucking happy about this I've ben wanting to see them live as well for ages

EDIT: Crap - they're just playing at the same time in the upstairs stages - apparently I can get in with my main ticket though but like I'm going to do that while Pixies are playing Bossa

EDIT EDIT: Hotel Lux just informed me that they're going to be starting upstairs when Pixies are finishing and we're allowed up so hopefully I'll get to see at least half of their set at the end

                      | The Pale White are confirmed as the support act for all dates on this tour

Listened a couple of songs on Youtube and my intial impressions are they suck - more bland age stuff

 I hope so!

We still expecting a 'fifth member' for these shows - EDF perhaps? Reminds me of those pre-reunion chats here when we weren't quite sure what to expect from those 2004 shows...

                      | I'm hoping for a bit of effort to recreate the sound of Bossanova - as opposed to just playing the songs without the subtle effects which add so much to the album
If so then maybe the reason they are only play these shows is to see how it works out before doing anymore?
Maybe they'd like a break between playing just those albums too
I guess the rest of the world is screaming for this tour as well - and as there are no Scottish dates maybe I'll bump into a few Scots folk there who also decided to just go to Amsterdam as it probably works out about the same in travel to any of the English dates

                      | Nice info, Ziggy!
I would be surprised if any Pixies 2.0-songs will show up in the encore. People want some hits after two classic records.

Really looking forward to the American tour, hopefuly some Bossa/Trompe-songs will stay in rotation. And maybe some Pixies 2.0 will come back.

I do think Magdalena, All The Saints, Death Horizon, Los Surfers Muertos and Vault of Heaven would blend in with the Bossa/Trompe stuff.

'Um Chagga Lagga' blended very well into the set a few years back. 'Classic Masher' survived into the BTE era, and I'd like to hear 'Oona' again, although Paz always seemed to struggle with the harmonies live.

Indie Cindy wise, I'm always surprised to hear 'Snakes'. Seems to have its fans but the weaker 2.0 songs in my view.
