Bogman was apparently an instrumental before being adapted into Long Rider.
Hope Charles writes a new song called Bogman someday, cause that's a cool name for a song. Maybe someday, when they work with a producer who doesn't hate Super Lecker haha |

Really enjoying the podcast.
I don't think HC has aged particularly well, although it's got some excellent songs. Everything I've heard from Beneath the Eyrie sounds like it's really moved up a notch. Love the first two singles.
It's also great hearing how Dalgety works with the band. |

Yeah, right now I think IC is aging nicely, HC not as much. But maybe we give HC atone too |

Personal things: I just heard in episode 7, that David Lovering is also a parent. That is new to me - anyone else knew? (not that it is utterly important, but I'm just curious...)

Something along the lines of "Paz is different from the other three. Being the only non-original member, being the only non-parent,..."

Wow! Dave sure seems like a cool dad.
In interview with Long Live Vinyl (found on the Facebook group Pixies and FBF) Frank says the podcast producers helped with funding the album.
Do the Pixies need funding? Interesting!
He also said he gave them something for their money by being funny and chatty and loud
Among those lines, not a direct quote

I'd always assumed the constant touring meant they could fund recording from the bands own pockets, I thought their relatively low overheads would mean they were doing ok. Surprised they need funding or that a podcast would be a worthwhile source of cash. I thought it was purely promotional!
Glad we got it though :) |

But why on earth would the podcast producers give them money? It's not like we are paying for the podcast ( I would btw)
It has to be promotional! Maybe the label is involved. Just a traditional kind of deal. Infectious gives them money for studio time if they can make a podcast too

I'm no Dalgety hater - Catfish Kate is great btw. Listening to the podcast, my opinion about him as a producer changed a bit. His advice about Catfish Kate chorus chords were neat. Final result is awesome - even if it's too loud/harsh/limited/compressed for me. This is a great song - Dalgety is obviously a very good producer, a musician, and knows the band very well. It's just the final result that I don't like - Dalgety has a modern ear and knows what's hype about rock music nowadays - I don't (and I'm not the only one).

Loving the Podcast.Liked Joey's sounds during Death Horizon (reminded me of The Martinis).Charles storytelling lyrics are always magical (campfire material indeed),and Paz contributions on that departament can't be denied.Very happy for her co-writing credits. Her bass playing and vocals are very fine in the band tradition.David's drums are exactly as he wants them to sound and Dalgety has been a great cheerleader involved in every aspect of the Pixies individual and bandmates performances.

Anyone else curious why Tom Dalgety had them do 3 covers when they probably already knew they wouldn't be on the album? |

iTunes exclusive Spotify exclusive Or another platform?
I'm surprised they are not part of the deluxe boxset

I sense sarcasm
Having seen BF in person several times, I would say he's not fun at all. Interesting, talented, weird, genius... but certainly not fun. At least not with strangers (maybe not even with his own bandmates). When fun, it often feels forced.
The episode was fun though

This^ I agree, usually people with or close to his talent are "weird" especially with strangers. He comes across in his music with some dark humor, or sometimes just funny, but not on a personal level. |
