In a vacuum I would vote for BLD.
But I can see what's happening here, and ties are to be avoided...and since The Golem must be saved*....

Week 18 turned out to be one of the most exciting battles so far, with a lot of twists and turns, and great commentary from our forum members!
When all was said and done, a last minute vote (complete with an apropos quote) from Neptune sent Devil's Workshop to join the other rejects on the garbage heap.

I too am surprised that Golem lives, but at the same time, there are some great numbers on it.
As I look at the remaining baker's dozen of the greats, there are several that I could bear to see go, but many for which saying goodbye seems unthinkable. |

*The Golem is such a unique entry in the catalog. Did you know it was intended as the soundtrack to the 1920 silent German Expressionist film "The Golem: How He Came into the World"? True Story!
OK, maybe there are a few too many "Miriam and Florian"s. But the range of emotion, from the sweet to the sad to the raging (GIVE TO ME THE WORD!!)...i find it very compelling. And the extra instrumental stuff that might not be that exciting is totally forgiven, as it goes with the movie.
Maybe some of the specialness is lost on the "Rock Album", since it's no longer a direct match for the film? I've never thought of that before. I've never even heard the "Rock Album" version (Box Set #332...) |
