This is the first round where I'm finding it hard to justify voting anything off.
No way I can get on board with voting for Pistolero. I love that record. It would be interesting to do an album artwork survivor... Pistolero and FB & the Catholics Self-Titled have to be two of the worst looking albums of all time.
I'm going to go for SVN Fingers. Mainly because I've listened to it less than anything else left on the list. Going to listen to it now though so I may be back to change my mind later. |

Super Tuesday polling numbers:
Pistolero - 4
Golem - 2
SVN Fingers - 1
Show Me Your Tears - 1
The Purple Tape - 1
Agree with Active Duck about how good Pistolero is but how bad the album artwork is.
I was actually thinking about how awesome every FBF album is from Come On Pilgrim through TOTY... and then Cult of Ray comes along, and even though I LOVE that album, the cover artwork maybe is a hint that things are not going to be quite as awesome anymore. |

Well, I guess I’m going to go with SVN again. Might as well be consistent. I’m trying to have some integrity and not have everyone else’s vote be a factor in my own voting. It doesn’t help that I’ve never watched the TV show Survivor, and I think that’s the inspiration for the framework here. From here on out I may change my vote to try to save something, but I’ll avoid that if I can.
I had a bad reaction to your public hobby writings. |

I usually have an album in mind but if there's something I particularly want to save that has a few votes already then I can be persuaded otherwise to try and save it.
It is getting tougher each round though, because my favourite albums change pretty regularly. I'll vote out SVN FNGRS this week to make it 4-3 at time of posting and close the gap on Pistolero a little. |

Surprised at how painful it has been to follow along with this. My faves dropping left and right.
Random vote out of nowhere. I think there is a need to start album appreciation threads, because this is killing me.

This is certainly going to be known as a black letter day for many at the forum as we have a tie vote for the first time in our survivor series and have to say goodbye to two very fine albums at once.

Frank Black and the Catholics
All My Ghosts and Dog Gone are among his best songs, Steak and Sabre is great, and the lyrical return to the Old Testament/antiquity is ceretainy welcome, but it and Pistolero are a bit too meat and potatoes for me, even if that was the intended aesthetic. I far prefer the Catholic's alt-country run. Plus, as has been pointed out already, the album artwork is truly terrible. |

Well, interestingly stuczuba, I’m now at the point where I think it’s time for the Golem to shuffle off back to Prague. Good as It is, I don’t think it belongs above anything left on the list.
Go meet yourself back at the ghetto gates, Golem. You had a good run.

The remaining albums are, for me, clustered together in two groups, A and B.
I could happily pick any from the B group to say goodbye to, and all three of the ones people voted for so far are B's.
I'm leaning toward Golem. Going to listen to it one more time this week, and a couple Catholic records, and then decide. |

The Golem doesn't have Lyle Workman, but the songs are just too good. Voting FB&C.
FB&C is kind of uneven for me. For example, the lyrics to 'I need peace' are a bit awkward, but the song also has one of the most badass moments he's ever recorded with a band. That break. 2:42 in. "What the hell is that?!", every time.
Interesting that 'Show Me Your Tears' is quietly making its way, round after round. Snake-like, some would say. Wouldn't have guessed it. |

Devil's Workshop. Could be tempted to go for Golem but either way, I feel it would be too early in the process to lose FB&C's. All My Ghosts, The Man Who Was Too Loud...to me they're both absolute top tier Frank songs.
Plus Lyle Workman's guitar is on fire throughout the whole damn album and it's in alphabetical order because, fuck it, when the songs are so good it doesn't matter what order they're in! |

Get your vote in if you haven't already.
