Don't suppose there's any chance of him coming to China then.

no shit?

and don't say lyle workman is in again....which would make 2 lead guitars, if santiago is there. but that's just me, dreaming.

so my guess is
-nick vincent - drums
-j. santaigo - guit
-EDF - keys
-some bloke - bass (oh, wasn't there somebody who said he is going to play bass on this tour)

I joined the cult of Souled American / 'cause they are a damn' fine band

Sorry, I was just daydreaming. It's just that the drums sound on BF reminds me a lot of Vincent on FB and TOTY.

Yeah, that's DING, The Bastard on Bass.
I could kill someone to see this lineup, you know. Let's say, some co-workers.

No gig in Paris announced yet, but that was not my point. I was just saying I'd love to see Black + Santiago + EDF + Vincent, though I don't think it'll be the actual lineup.

Froggy said 4 musicians, so there must be someone on the keys. Or at least a kazoo player.

EDF and Joey would be ace! Drummer? mmm... Scott Boutier would be great too.

I mentioned EDF cos he's apparently joining the Reid Paley trio in Vienna, as well as that Knife and Fork gig. Seems odd that he'd cross the ocean at the same time as FB, otherwise!

It would be so cool to see EDF playing with Frank. I've never had the chance. Even if I saw Frank back in '93, EDF wasn't there. Sad.

Wow long time since I came here....

Just got a summary mail from seetickets on which it says...

"FRANK BLACK
Shepherds Bush Empire date on sale 9am Friday 20th April"

It doesn't say when though, or whether there's any other dates

I read on ITV teletext that its a 1 off UK date and that he'll play all the songs from the greatest hits, in order. Though I dont know how true that is.

I got me a ticket for the 15th July London show but would also consider going to Amsterdam for the 4th if I thought he was playing songs from Bluefinger. On Dutch soil I imagine that would be pretty special and probably at the famed Milkweg venue. Is it certain to be more a greatest hits type of tour?

Hi cptnpasty, I imagine he will add a date. To be fair, he has played here a lot over the years, while places like Cardiff sadly get skipped over.

i suppose. i was feelin pretty smug that, of course, there would be a dublin date, but nothing so far.maybe we get a subsequent one when he tours the bluefinger material - even better.and i'm still crying, if you're reading this, frank. look what you've done. i hope you're satisfied....

I had the chance to see the Pixies in Cardiff. In 1989. So I'd have been four years old. Perhaps a bit too young to appreciate it.

And as far as I know, FB hasn't played a show in Wales ever since.

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/entertainment/music/rock_and_pop/s/1005/1005743_unsigned_ding_in_blacks_books.html

<<Unsigned Ding in Black's books
Adam Moss
30/ 4/2007

A MANCHESTER bass player has been plucked from an unsigned band to perform on a summer tour with Frank Black - the singer of cult pop group The Pixies.

Ding, bassist with Bobbie Peru, has been offered the chance to play on Frank's summer tour at venues across Europe.

He was headhunted from previous tours he has played on as a session musician with Manchester's The Fall and after he performed on PJ Harvey's last world tour.

A band spokesman says: "The other band members of Bobbie Peru are really pleased for Ding and will hopefully be able to play a support slot on the tour because Frank has said he really likes the band's music."

Ding's last gig with Bobbie Peru before jetting off to join Frank, will be at the Roadhouse in Manchester on Friday.>>

I've just read Cooking Vinyl's "93 - 03 Album" press release again

"One-off London gig on 15th July"

My point is the "one off". Northern peeps be warned.
I missed this bit first time around.
