OK, I guess that CV has right everywhere except North America. Which means that you should be able to grab it unless you live here, which is good news for most.
I'm not sure who would have the rights here - the nearest guess I can venture would be SpinArt (the Back Porch records were one-shot, I think), but I doubt they'd sign on since by now most of us have ordered from CV anyway.

Just got mine this morning, the package is gorgeous. Time to give it a listen.
Edit: Just noticed, on SMYT it's spelt "Massif Centrale" but on Christmass it's spelt "Massif Central"
Yes, it's a spelling mistake on SMYT.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Who's mistake is it thought? Frank's when he originally wrote the song?

I just found my notice that my order has shipped, as of yesterday morning. My spam filter had snagged it so I had missed it. Spam filter now modified.

hey this is great! I'm so happy, didn't think it would arrive today (or before Christmas) so bonus! Appologies if this has been covered, I've read some of this thread and done a search but couldn't find my answer. Some of the songs on the album are written by 'Frank Black' and some by 'Black Francis' - does this mean all the songs we've not heard before, that were written by BF were initially written during the Pixies/pre-Pixies period?
(hoping this isn't a stupid question!)

Or perhaps he is reverting back to his old name? That would be odd, but the new YouTube videos (which were made by FB) have been billed as being made by the "Black Francis Detective Agency." Or maybe he's just messing with us. Very interesting though...

Which songs, apart from the obvious Pixies ones...
'Black Francis' wrote...
She's My Way Demon Girl Radio Lizards Don't Get Me Wrong The Water
So I guess that's all the new songs apart from Do What You Want and Dead Man's Curve?
...and Demon Girl is absolutely fantastic! Love it so much, can't stop listening to it!

or maybe they're the Pixies songs Frank wrote for a new Pixies record. You know, the ones that got "rejected" by who knows who. New/Future Pixies songs on the new Frank Black record... |

That's good to hear. I can't wait to listen to the full length version, hopefully today, unless the postman wants a clip around the ear. F**king thief!
regarding the pixies/frank songs: has anyone ever known an artist to release the same songs on different albums with different bands? (i can't think straight this morning) Now we finally get to hear these Black Francis songs, I think I'd rather have five brand new songs in their place on any new Pixies record 'cause, well, I've already heard them...on a Frank Black cd. |

There must be others but the first one that comes to mind is The Knitters doing X songs on their last album (and X doing Knitters songs on one of their live albums). |

Thanks, Darwin. So there is a possibility these songs on a Frank Black album could be recorded for a new Pixies album. I don't why it would be done, but it's possible.
(still no sign of my discs. i'll be coming to Germany very soon if it's a no show, kella) |

I couldn't imagine them appearing on a Pixies album after an FB album. That would just seem wrong to me, and I couldn't see why the other Pixies would agree to it.
On another note, my copy of Christmass is here \o/. But I may wait till monday to open it.

I could be wrong but didn't Kim Deal release 'Full on Idle' with the Amps and the Breeders? |

Does the chorus of 'She's My Way' remind anyone else of 'If Your Poison Gets You'? This is definitely my favourite song off the new album. I've listened to it about 15 times since I got it yesterday.

Bryan Ferry has recorded a bunch of Roxy Music songs on his solo albums (mainly on Let's Stick Together)

So it's nothing too unusual. I should have asked my mum, she loves Bryan Ferry.
I've just got in and Christmass was sitting in the hall waiting for me. I've only sampled a few tracks but it's blown all my expectations out of the water already. Even the design is something for me to "whoop!" about. Similar to 4AD in a way. Maybe that's just because there's a planet in the inlay. It just breathes quality. I honestly don't mean anything negative to the past few records because I love them for what they are, but this here disc in my stereo is going to be played for a long long time. I'm so excited by it, and before I turn too sappy, I'll leave it at that.
Frank. You probably won't read this but bravo. You've ended our and the year on one amazing high. |

Yeah, RIGHT!
I'm fighting many internal battles with this one. It feels wrong to buy myself something so close to xmas, so I might get my wife to get the kids to give it to me on the day. I mean, what could be better than a new Frank album on xmas day from your kids.
