Does anybody do it ~ casual or semi-seriously. What is your highest score? Mine is 250.
Btw, on a totally unrelated matter, can someone walk me thru the process of posting a photo. After all this time, I still have no idea. Thanks in advance...

you might want to check out Brians thread about bowling
as far as posting a picture goes it needs to be hosted on the internet somewhere, sites like tinypic are good for this. For them to show on the site they need to be between tags that look like this:
[ img ] [ / img ]
but without the spaces.
Tinypic will have provide those tags when you upload a picture which you just copy and paste to here.
To post a picture from a google search you just type those tags in yourself:
If you quote this post you will see how it is done.

I did a "bowling" search for other threads first but came up with nothing. Brian's is good. Thanks Star for the pic info also.

Yeah, I had the same thing with the search, I think it's because it's Bowling with a capital Brokenface Brian B-B-B-B 'B'. No problems though!
I went Bowling actually the other month for my brothers birthday and was terrible. I blame being distracted by 'orrible youths on my ill fortune though.

250 is a good score 1965, well done. Was it a fluke or do you put in scores over 200 regularly? Not that it matters, holding your form to get 6 or 7 strikes in a game is great.
I used to play semi-seriously in a junior league about 20 years ago - see other thread - (can it really be that long???) but only casually since. In fact, don't think I've bowled for over a year.
High score 236......think my high series is about 570 or 580, but can't really remember.
That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.

I am playing quite regularly again, after a 10-year hiatus. My avge has been as high as 182, but has since slipped to 170.
I was on 247 with one ball to go and got 3 - a little nervous. Though I was happy in the end to finally get over the line and crack 250.

My nephew once beat me, but most of his shots did z's from railing to railing down the lane. |

I bowl semi regular and my highest is 206 I think. Average around 150 but I always say Im ok when people ask as the other day I bowled a 109 then a 194.

Am I the only one who is turned off by the smell of bowling alleys? Is it all that testosterone clinging to the walls, the hundreds of shoes, or both? Come to think of it, how can anybody stomach the stench of any indoor sports venue? Squash courts? euuh. Maybe it's just memories of half-court dodge ball in the high school gymnasium.
Reminds me of that scene from the the original "Porky's" movie where those assistant gym coaches go at it on the pile of jock straps or soiled t-shirts or whatever they were. Pleeeez. Don't get me wrong: I admire the zen/zoned aspect of practices like bowling. 250 is a fine score, but just give it to me outdoors, on grass or clay or however folks used to do it. Reminds me of Rumpelstiltskin, for some reason. (You know you're crazy when you actually spell that name correctly on the first try.)

Most bowling alleys have a bar annex these days so I think that would contribute to the aromatics. My local is a "dry" alley, so the White Russians have to wait till after-hours.

Hey Everybody *Newsflash* 12 years in the making ~ I just bowled my new hi-score tonight: 265 & 653 for my 3 game series. I am really happy!
