Oh, and I am not insane. Therefore I am not a goalie. I am a centreman and damn proud of it. I play in a mens rec league. No biggie. But if you really want to know I am the leading scorer on our team and that isn't saying much.

Saw the Pens beat the Canadiens tonight in an OT shootout. Sid the Kid had the gamewinner, and a huge smile on his face. Lovin having hockey back on tv. |

just got back from FLA on a nice little holiday with the family. we checked out the leafs and lightning in tampa. it was pretty cool. nice arena. hadn't seen a live NHL game for about 5 years. the guys sitting behind me totally cracked me up. in the 2nd period this guy behind me say's "i didn't know lindros is on the lightning." his buddy responds, "tampa is wearing the dark jerseys." he's like, "oh, i'll go get us some more beers."
anyone see that malik goal in the shootout. fuckin unbelievable. here's a link to the video. not sure if this will work. if i tried this i would probably trip over my stick and go head first into the post.

Holy shit what a game! Gawd I wish shiny would stop in here.
I scored tix to Monday's game, probably doesn't mean that much to anyone, but an Oil/Flames game is always good, that was a freaking fantastic game. After I picked up a sleeper for Jonas that says; "I was conceived during the lockout" :)

hi c, i've been avoiding this thread since the nux can't buy a win against the oil, i think the canucks have to win the remaining 4 against edmonton allowing only one point to go the oil's way inorder for me to keep the 60 odd bucks i've wagered against my transplanted edmonton friends. oh well, if they win they can afford a fucking bus ticket back for all i care, hehehe.

Last night's Oil/Phoenix game was unbelievable. We tied it up with 2.2 seconds on the clock. 2.2 seconds! I've never seen that before. Then we won the game in a shootout. Hahaha, Gretzky.

I heard it was 0.3 seconds left, but then I didn't watch the game. Two people called me in the minutes following the game, so I figured it was something pretty special.
I seem to remember a goal getting scored off the draw with 2 seconds left back in the late '80s (when the clocks didn't even use tenths!) but I'm thinking I must be wrong because everyone's talking about this one. In my mind it's the Habs doing it on HNIC but I was pretty young so my memory may be muddled. Faceoff went straight back, there was still a second on the clock when the twine rippled.
When the Oilers get a goalie (wouldn't be surprised to see Cujo come back at the deadline) they'll be poised to make a serious run. I'll have to start reserving my evenings...

Yeah, exactly, if we only had a goalie.
Well mister nitpicky, there was 2.2 seconds left in the game at the faceoff. There was 0.3 seconds left when they scored. The look on Gretzky's face was priceless.

I just saw my first shoot outs last week. The Stars have had 3 games in a row that went to shoot outs, and won all 3. They are 8-0 overall this year in the shoot outs. It's pretty exciting when it gets to that point, although I realize the playoffs will not have shoot outs. Still, pretty good and fun gimmick for the regular season.

Jussi Jokinen has scored in every one of those shootouts for Dallas, too. I'm surprised how well the Stars have been doing this year; I keep waiting for them to start sucking but they always find a way not to.

I have the feeling they are living on borrowed time b/c of all the shoot out or overtime wins, but who knows. If Guerin can start to contribute something...anything...then maybe they can really get it going. Jokinen almost always does the same move on those shoot outs, but damn if every time he has fooled them!

I'm so glad the Rangers are watchable this year. I've got Malik's goal saved on my Dish Network DVR. That was such a long shootout too. I think it was the 14th or 15th try before he won the game.

Cripes did we get robbed the other night. If we miss a playoff spot by a point I'm gonna lose it! As it stands its good, 6th. Then we'd play Calgary and bypass Dallas.

If we don't win this series (which we shouldn't), I think we should win for the team most screwed over by refs and officials.

There's way too much "tricolore jusqu’au bout" in Montreal this afternoon, C. Way too many people are driving around waving Habs flags.

Stars finally win a game!! Wooo Hooo! Now it's time for 4 straight. OK a little wishful thinking maybe! We'll see. Carolynanna, too bad no Stars/Oilers series this year. Those are always bloody affairs.

I think that someone should give all those drunk fans in downtown Montreal a ride home tonight. What the hell was I thinking watching the game in a friggin sports bar?

Well...I'd definitely be happier being up 3-2 than down 3-2, although you never can tell about these NHL playoff series. Every game is a war! Congrats on tonight's game anyway.

Yeah that was cool! Considering Detroit's the best in the league and we just squeaked in the playoffs. I'd say more but I don't want to jinx it.
I'm happy with how well the Canadian teams are doing (except Calgary...) Man that would be a sweet series...

I got to go to the Stars game today. Classic game of out-shooting the heck out of the other team, giving up a soft goal, and losing it in OT. It was a good game, but down 3-0 in the series was too much for this team. What a let down after a good regular season. That's the way of the Stars during the last 3 seasons.

I met lots of Calgarians cheering for the Oilers. Seems it's not reciprocated, eh C?
