Have you read the books?

I kind of think the Potter films tend to presume that you've already read the books. On the other hand, I've heard of people enjoying them without having done the reading, so I could be wrong. Regardless, though, I DO think you should read the books first.

The Goblet of Fire is easily the best Harry Potter film, the others are worse, starting with the first one which i found almost unwatchable, getting progessively better |

I watched Anchorman again at the weekend. I bought it for £4.99in the HMV sale. I think I laughed even harder than the first time.
I also watched Planes, Trains And Automobiles. That wasn't as good as I remember it seeming when I was younger.
EDIT: Oh and I went to see Jarhead. That was pretty good.
I'd walk her everyday, into a shady place

Planes, Trains And Automobiles is funny, but there's some corny 'emotional' scenes in it, too.

The first Potter movie was definitely the most exciting for me. Just being able to see it on the big screen was great. For the later movies, I already knew pretty much what they'd look like, so that excitement was no longer there. The fourth one is probably the best actual movie, though. I'd say the second is the worst in several respects: there isn't much new to see, some of the visuals are poorly done (especially the Howler), and the cuts bothered me more than in the other films.

I've only seen the first one. I wasn't too impressed, and I thought the troll looked really cartoony.

Yeah, I think they've done a better job with rendering the mythological beings in the more recent movies. Maybe that's just because such effects have gotten better in general. The Cornish Pixies (as opposed to Bostonian Pixies) in the second movie were somewhat poorly done, too.
Last night, I watched "Urban Legends: Final Cut," which I wouldn't recommend.

I just finished watching "Now, Voyager" (1942) on Turner Classic Movies. If you were emotionally abused by the parent of your own gender, you will benefit from seeing this movie. Though the movie is about the impact of the consistant tyranny of her mother upon the Bette Davis character, I could not help but identify with my own sad relationship with my father. Profoundly affected, I recommend this with all my will.
"A repressed spinster is transformed by psychiatry and her love for a married man. Runtime Listing: 117-118 mins. Black and White; Bette Davis, Paul Henreid, Claude Rains" |

This is kind of funny. I sat down last night to watch Kicking and Screaming thinking it was the Will Ferrell comedy with him as the soccer coach right? So I tune in and it turns out to be a movie by the same name with Eric Stoltz about him and some college buddies dealing with life after college, like St. Elmo's Fire for the new millenium or somethin' like that.. But the kicker was the intro song for the opening credits was Cecilia Ann. Anyway, I didn't see the movie. I was pissed it wasn't the one I wanted to see....That's my review. |

I watched Dodgeball last night. Pretty funny. Not side-splittingly so, but humurous none-the-less.

if you go to the 'friends' tab and you put in my email address (if you don't have it, private message me), we can be netflix buddies! (like i am w/ apl4eris) we can suggest movies to each other, see what the others have at home, etc. i admit it may sound sort of lame, but its always good to see what others are watching.

I'm a proud new netflix customer. It's geeky fun.
Watched 40 year old virgin. Overall good. It had it's moments but seemed to drag. Perhaps that's because it was the unrated version. |

I think might have enough survilance from the government right now. Why doesn't netflix offer a few films of the erotic variety? |
