THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE

far better than i expected - a truly well done adaptation of the novel.

I watched Three Colours Blue last night. I am interested to see where Three Colours White goes now. I have white and red on my rental list too.

I love this goddamn movie. The self-interview on the DVD cracks me up the same no matter how many times I watch it.

Because of Winn Dixie - sweet movie with some serious issues for kids. Perfect for my 7 year old. Pair it with To Kill a Mockingbird and you would have a great southern tolerant girl double feature.

I think my productivity is low when one of my big accomplishments of the day is clearing a movie off of my netflix que.

"Spellbound" (the one about the National Spelling Bee) and "Deliverance" last night.

Has anyone ever noticed how many movies there are about urban or suburban people going out into the country and being attacked by psycho hicks?

For crime and human heartlessness, nothing matches the northeastern American city. The more entrenched the leftist politics, the more brutal and callous the citizens.

Yes, those leftist bastions like Columbine, Colorado.

What movie did you watch last night?

Body Double. At first I thought it was the first De Palma movie that sucked. Now I think it was actually pretty good, just really weird. I took it the wrong way, thinking it was a thriller a la Obsession whereas it is in fact more of a parody. It's De Palma thinking "what if Hitchcock directed cheap porn flicks?".

Bugger. Screenselect have sent Threee Colours Red next, even though they stated that they would send the trilogy in order. I have already watched Three Colours Blue, is it important that I watch Three Colours White next?

i would say so homers. can you hold onto more than one film at a time, or is it a one at a time service?

i mean, the films don't really connect in any meaningful way, but i think they're best viewed in order. right tony?

Wow, straight out of left field. I appreciate your persistence.

Thanks Brian, I sent it back in the end and will now await White. I can only have one at a time because I am on a three month free trial unfortunately, otherwise it wouldn't have mattered so much.

It's no way to impress someone who is on a free trial though.

Just watched Primer, which won 2004 Sundance film festival. Pretty interesting concept. The writer/ director/actor Shane Carruth is so passionate about how he crafted this movie that it makes all the minutia of how he filmed it and did the sound and the lighting pretty fascinating. Plus, he's a fellow "Dallasite" which gives me that special bond to him. I'll need to watch the rest of the commentary to make sure I totally understand what happens at the end. A little Memento-esque as far as tying all the loose ends together.

The Hindenburg (1975)

A relative snooze-fest. A Nazi general (George C. Scott!) has two days to locate a bomb(!) on the doomed dirigible. Yeah whatever. We all know what happens in the end...except I must admit there was some trippy special effects, and a nice musical score. Robert Wise, an otherwise fantastic film maker, directed this mess which ultimately went over like a lead balloon (that was horrible).

Incident on a Dark Street (1973)

Nothing worth explaining about this TV movie (which should never have even surfaced on dvd) except William Shatner's hilariously phoney mustache...and wig.

Shaving Ryan's Privates (2000)

Gay porn.

Hank the 8th was a duplicated man

Intense lobbying from some forum Brummies finally paid off as I watched Harold & Maude last night. It was excellent. Reminded me a lot of The Graduate, which I loved too. Some of the 60s & 70s movies I've recently seen seemed very outdated but that wasn't the case with this one.

Glad you liked it too Dennis, its a wonderful film, really hard to get people to watch it though, as nowadays people expect it to be some sort of gross out teen comedy if you dont describe it right. Both Harold and Maud are fantastic characters, and its all beleivable too

I watched Three Colours White, but I was dissapointed in the end. The story baffled me, as there seemed to be a few large holes in it.
