I just bought this with out ever seeing it because I like Steve Carroll. I was hoping it would be more clever but it was enjoyable enough. A whole hell of a lot better than that lame ass Anchorman.

Yeah, what the hell happened to Margaret Cho? I used to think she was funny when she first came around. Now she just scares me.

Yours and Monkey's evidently. I'm sorry but Anchorman was not that funny. In fact I felt that it sucked. No offense intended, but you know these movies stupid people show up to? They laugh just because they know it's a comedy and that they are supposed to be laughing? I call it the "phenomena of the lame ass". "Whiskey, Whiskey good for my tummy" not at all funny but popcorn goes flying everywhere while people are laughing their asses off about it. Many of Adam Sandlers movies (The Punky Brewster series, or whatever) come to mind when I speak of the phenomena of the lame ass. This is why Hollywood keeps cranking out this shite. People eat it up. I on the other hand am a comedic genius but if I dare lay some of my comedic gold on one of these lame asses without prepping them before hand I just get a blank stare or a look of bewilderment. These same "chromosomically challenged" individuals show up to a comedy show and are blowing beverage out their noses every time the comedian pauses between sentences. Same goes for Horror flicks. I was dating some chick that wanted to watch SAW with me because it was sooo scary. So fucking ridiculous is what it was. Bye, bye lady lame ass.

Wow, a comedic genius huh? If you say so :) What does the "prepping before hand" entail for the absorbtion of your "comedy gold"? I guess some of us are bigger fans of satire than others, that's all Anchorman is.

I agree about SAW though, my friend and his girl made me sit through that crapfest. Now the sequel is out, with Donny Wahlberg!

Punky Brewster had it's moments, but I'm more of Small Wonder fan.

I liked School of Rock as well but some of the kids were annoying. The kids in the new Bad News Bears on the other hand were awesome, especially the one in the wheelchair.

Is that any good? I liked the original. Which I saw in the theatre when it came out. Okay 4:15pm, time for a nap. I gotta be sharp for Bingo tonight.

Yeah it's good, much better than what I expected. I'd say the original is still better if just because (like yourself) it's the one I grew up with.

I saw "The Stuff," a cheesy eighties movie about a dessert product that's alive and kills people. Sort of like the Blob, I guess, only edible.

Hockey always makes me weep.

Seriously though, you're probably asking about Brokeback Mountain. Have you read the story or seen the movie? It's about the heartache we cause ourselves when we eschew authencity. Snot was running down my face for the second half of the movie. Might happen to you too.

P.S. There's some cute ones who are straight.

I haven't seen it yet. I take it that you and Frog didn't make out during the second half of the movie then?

Frog and I did not make out. Frog was in France with his gf. I was in Canada with my old college roommate.

Also saw, I should say, suffered through:

Margaret Cho's plain painful.

The Comedians of Comedy

I'm a huge Mr. Show fan but a lot of the "comedy" in this film was not very funny at all. Patton Oswalt talks about how following a comedians career and watching him/her develop their craft over the years can be just as interesting as doing the same with a band. This movie did not convince me of that. This Zack Galiinofobriliotsacartdatr or whatever the fuck his name is was the only truly original and funny one in the film. It's worth checking out though.
