Tonight I watched Y Tu Mama Tambien and Dead Man. Both were top notch.
I will never say the word procrastinate again, I'll never see myself in the mirror with my eyes closed. |

OK I'm gonna confess something now. I think I haven't seen the Evil Dead entirely. I think I saw the first half and some parts of the second one. Shame on me. For some reason my wife doesn't like zombie movies, I downloaded Dawn Of The Dead 2 years ago and we still haven't seen it. I love zombie movies.

sorry Denis just read this, you're right the book is better, I may get american psycho again because it has been a long time since I saw it.
however you have dawn of the dead and have never seen it? and only saw half of evil dead? you need to pack the mrs off to a weekend girl spa invest in some popcorn and serious zombie time young man!
and is there anyone really who doesn't like zombie films?
KOK - I haven't seen the day after tomorrow, it looked a bit shit.

I quite enjoyed it. I bought it, and have watched it many times over. I know some that haven't liked it though. It's more about survival in that type of situation than zombies. I would highly recommend it. I may go watch it now.
The problem is i'm enjoying my Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros albums way too much. There is a party down the street and I'd rather hang here listening to Joe sing.

I have a (shhh) copy (as in dvd-r copy) of it somewhere but I'd always heard terrible reviews. I'm currently agonising over what to watch (6am and no sleep) so if you say it's good I may give it a go.
If in fact it is a bit shit you're going to be in a whole world of trouble mister

PHEW!!!!
28 DAYS LATER is ok, I have a soft spot for christopher ecclestone and I quite liked the way it switched from rabid virus zombie to fucked up military. The ending was a cop out (altered because the test audiences didn't like it apparantly - pussies)
And you're very lucky I didn't watch THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW then because my DVD rental things came in the post. If I'd had to sit through some shite this morning you would not have been in my good books.
I have just watched THE TOWERING INFERNO and oh my god Steve McQueen is one sexy fucker! Absolutey brilliant film for imsomnia weirdness satruday morning pervings.

I couldn't agree more.
I watched the remake of Assault On Precinct 13 yesterday and I really enjoyed it. I was worried that it was gonna be terrible but it was good. I can't remember the original much though, I haven't watched it since I was a kid.
Oh and I thought Bad Santa was good, I really enjoyed it.

May we post on this thread (which I must again say discriminates against those forum members who for whatever reason do not watch movies or TV on a nightly basis) sporting events we watched last night?
Because I saw one awesome hockey game.

Carl, was it at a hockey game or during a strip show? Because that's the only thing being posted now on this thread. Just kidding, KOK! Your thread, your topic, your deal, your strippers.

I watched "The Long Way Around" - Ewan McGregor's round the world bike trip thing. Not really helping me get over the road trip longing I now suffer from or the attraction to bearded men.
I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A California Dreamin' on such a winter's day

Oh yeah.
Master and Commander From the far side of the world
Not bad. Although it pissed me off when they spent all that money making the movie, then they throw in these 15 dollar green iguanas from the local pet shop, for the Galapogos Islands scene. Movies do that all the time. I was watching something that was supposed to be in the California desert somewhere. They show an Australian bearded dragon sitting on a rock. I start screeming out "Oh my goodness! There are non indigenous species loose in the California desert! Someone call the authorities!"

In the last three days I watched Broadway Danny Rose, Door in the Floor, and last night watched Cole Miners Daughter.
All were pretty good. Although very different, obviously.

Watched "Paris, Texas" last night and was pretty disappointed. I'd been wanting to see it for many years and had really gotten my hopes up because I love Wim Wenders, so I'm sure my expectations were high. The cinematography was beautiful (especially when it involved the Painted Desert), but I was very unimpressed with the Sam Shepard screenplay (another disappointing surprise). It was too forced and not believable. And TOO LONG. This movie was also a perfect example of why creative people should "do what you know". The characters weren't true to life, it came off as a German's view of what American outskirt-dwellers would be like, and a Yankee's view of what film-noir means to a southerner. Lots of flimsy arty tropes and inconsistencies too.
But I still loved Harry Dean Stanton. He rocked even though the movie didn't. I do wonder if I hadn't had any expectations of Wenders if it would have seemed better.
Saw "True Romance" again the night before last, and that was just as good as I remembered. Doesn't try to be what it's not, just good fun writing and real violence. The scene between Walken and Hopper is still one of my favorites, and I love the transcendental stupid mistakes of the characters in moments of idealism and self-sacrifice. I think I liked it better than ever this time around.

My daily protest against this thread which inherently discriminates against those forum members who, for whatever reason, cannot view a film every night.

Hey, at least it's named for you. Picky picky.
Maybe you need a Super 8 projector and a trip to a flea market. Just imagine what weird finds you might come across.

Hey! I just noticed that. My first thought was that I'd been (sob!) banned from the thread!
Apl, your suggestion is a good one (who doesn't love a flea market?) but my problem is one of time (as in I have a kid, which means I have little time to watch movies). However, "Sideways" has come to my little movie theater and Mr. Kathryn and I have hired a babysitter and plan to drink lotsa red wine and hit the theater. See how much better yours and Spud-dude's life is without a child?!

Well, depending on how old your kid is, you could have a little director on your hands if you can just find a good used video camera. Then it's home movie night for the whole family.
My little bro used to make the craziest stop-action godzilla animation with this 2-ft toy I bought for him from a thrift store, and he made the silliest movies playing with his friends. I couldn't believe my parents let him run around with their camera at the age of four. My siblings were so spoiled. Hmmmph!

I've just been watching, not a movie, a Suede concert, they are fabulous on stage, it was almost like being there, I begun watching and I sat down, at the end I just couldn't control myself!

I think I am gonna watch 13 Monkeys tonight. It's on T.V and I like it. I was gonna watch Apocolypse Now: Redux on DVD but that can wait 'til another time. As can True Roimance, the most romantic film of all time - FOR ME!
