It's a million times better than 4 (with Renee Zellwegger and Matthew McConaughy)! Interestingly,Viggo Mortensen is in it. The second one was a major disappointment. Apparently, there was a lot of stuff cut out, such as a scene where Leatherface massacres a football team!
Crash is lying around the house, I hav'nt watched it. The little clips I've seen, it looks a little bit melodramatic and forced. |

Your hypothesis on Crash is a bullseye Carl, I didn't like it.
I never watched it till I got On Demand, but The Wire on HBO is a pretty great show. |

The second TCM was a lot wackier than the first, but I still liked it pretty well. I have the fourth one on my Netflix queue, but my hopes for it aren't particularly high. I didn't care for the recent remake either, but for different reasons.

Tonight I watched You and Me and Everyone We Know. I really enjoyed it.

Watched House Of A Thousand Corpses last night. Started off good, later degenerated into a total mess. Nicely directed by Rob Zombie. But still all over the shop. |

I think "The Devil's Rejects" was probably better than the original House of 1000 Corpses. It was much more focused. Pretty disturbing in parts, but funny in others.

Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit. It wasn't as good as the previous short episodes but still great. There was too much dialog IMO (probably to make the movie last long enough), and I think the 2 or 3 "sexual" jokes were out of place in a W+G movie. They were really very few though. On the other hand, the wabbits were absolutely cracking and the story was solid. I really laughed my ass off during the whole thing. Funny to see they weren't any kids in the theater. It seems young children aren't fans.

Saw that yesterday. Very well made and funny. It's amazing what they've achieved with claymation in these days of CGI cartoons. |

Actually the movie is full of CGI (for instance the bunnies floating in the vacuum cleaner). imdb.com mentions that "over 700 shots contain some kind of digital effects". The great thing is that you barely notice them.

Sorry about that, zub.
Yesterday I watched The Philadelphia Story. That was quite awesome. I had never seen a Hepburn movie until this year when I saw both that one and Bringing Up Baby (plus Scorsese's The Aviator in which Cate Blanchett does a pretty impressive impersonation of her). She was quite amazing. I love these old comedies with rapid-fire dialog but I've seen very few of them. I'll try to find His Girl Friday next, any other good ones to recommend?

Anything with Bette Davis in it except the last one she made which was so awful she sneaked off the set halfway through and they fixed it by turning her character into a cat. All About Eve and Sunset Boulevard (Gloria Swanson plays an aging silentmovie actress and acts mostly with her eyes and face) are good ones.

Aw, like zub I'm disappointed to hear that-although I did wonder how they achieved the bunnies floating! And actually, it dos'nt really matter because they'd obviously only used CG when it was absolutely nescessary, and for enhancement. You've reminded me to check it up on IMDB, vilainde, I have a compulsive habit of checking out any film I've seen on there! |

Wicked Stepmother-I remember that was absolutely awful! It does feature the delectably sexy Barbera Carrera, though. I heard that before, about Bette Davis walking out! I just Googled it, and was reminded that Larry Cohen directed it-pretty disapponting from him! |

I usually avoid Bette Davis movies cause I keep confusing her with Bette Midler. The cat story is pretty good, Newo. Thanks for the tips.

I saw Hellraiser 3 last night. It was nowhere near as good as the second one, but I appreciated the expansion of Pinhead's back story.

Itīs the way to revive any ailing franchise, they could do it with Childīs Play, Halloween and uh Star Trek.

Jane Austen adaptations would be due for liftoff if I had anything to do with it.

They did "Leprechaun in Space," as well as "Leprechaun in the Hood." Thankfully, I haven't seen any of those movies.
I saw "Halloween: H2O" last night. I thought it was actually one of the better movies in the series, but it bothered me that they pretty much totally ignored the continuity from Parts 4-6. (Halloween 3 has nothing to do with anything, and wasn't supposed to.)

It is rather black and white, and the plot takes great poetic license, but I found it to be good. Lots of good actors in it as well. I enjoyed it quite a bit actually.
Rented Me, You and Everyone We Know last night and liked it also. Sheds a whole new light on instant messaging, among other things.

I saw "A Mighty Wind" last night. It wasn't as good as Spinal Tap or Best In Show, but Fred Willard was hilarious as usual.

I liked it a little better than Best in Show but probably because I'm a musician I got into it a little more than maybe someone who isn't. They'll never top Spinal Tap. And yeah, Fred Willard was fucking hilarious in Mighty Wind. "WHA' HAPPENED?!!"
We watched Sideways last night for the umpteenth time, it's great. |
