Yeah, watched Flying Daggers the other day. She really is lovely. Wanna see 2046. She's also stars in Memoirs Of A Geisha, which is coming soon.

i think she's an amazing actress. she's so multi-talented..

she's a highly skilled dancer

martial arts expert

an accomplished horseback rider

and on top of that she's had a substantial modelling career

she's a great role model for young aspiring actresses

My Summer of Love

Beautifully filmed but with a predictable plot.

Star Wars III - at last. It was OK. I can't say I loved it cause the acting is atrocious (except Palpatine who's great, and I think Obiwan did a better job this time) and the movie took a long time to take off, but I liked it. Oh, and I sat right behind Andre the Giant, so I hope nothing interesting happened in the down right corner of the screen.

I watched Million Dollar Baby last night. I really enjoyed, some fantastic performances. The only thing that dissapointed me was the inclusion of the 'Ivan Drago' type character. Why did they have to do this? It was just unrealistic. These characters don't exist in boxing. Even Mike Tyson isn't that bad. One day they will make a boxing film (or any sport-based film) with some degree of realism.

Thankfully this did not ruin the movie as it wasn't really about the boxing itself.

In the ring I meant. And he doesn't do what she does in every single fight. It's just an unrealistic character that would have been better left out of the film. She was just added to make the viewer angry, which was unnecessary I felt.

Wedding Crashers. I was dissapointed. Everyone I know who saw this loved it, and I was excpecting some BIG laughs, but I only really laughed hard once, and the rest was mild chuckles. They all seemed pretty excited to be in a movie where they could drop the f-bomb, though.

Fearless Freaks - Flaming Lips documentary. I won't recommend this to anyone.

The Sea Inside - Spanish Oscar winner about quadriplegic man fighting for the right to be euthanised. Good film but somewhat heavy on the tear-jerking towards the end.

Being Julia - Period piece about ageing actress getting her revenge on an up and coming starlett stealing her limelight, toy boy and husband. This was quite funny at times, I enjoyed it even though I'm not a huge Anette Benning fan.

Mean Creek - River's Edge meets Deliverance. Even though it is not as good as any of the before mentioned films it was alright. I ended up feeling pretty depressed about the terrible shit these kids mistakenly got themselves into.

I saw Charlie And The Chocolate Factory the other night (just missed the start of it, I hate that!!). It started really well, and it was quite funny, but the chocolate factory was a bit dissapointing, and they kind of just legged it through it, they did'nt spend enough time there and Burton could have been more imaginative with some of it. Depp said he based his performance on Marilyn Manson-watching it, I was think he kind of sounded like the American tourist woman that Eric Idle plays in The Meaning Of Life!!

Watched Casino when I got back. I feel that film really stands up the to criticism that it's a second-rate Goodfellas. There are some charector similarities, but it's quite different in a number of ways. It's engrossing and brilliantly filmed, DeNiro and Pesci are so natural and compelling to watch, and Sharon Stone proves she has real talent.

I watched War of the Worlds yesterday. I read the book when I was young, so I knew how it ended and wasn't disappointed by it. The first part of the movie was really good, until they arrive in the basement with Tim Robbins. Then it looked like Spielberg didn't know how to make a 2-hour movie out of the script and the movie dragged til the end. I wish he had put more time and effort in it, it could've been great. Tim Robbins was asbolutely ridiculous, people laughed at every scene of him. The girl was annoying. I hate it when 8 year old girls act like adults in movies. Cruise was really good - yeah, I like him. So what?

Yeah, half of the time she's screaming hysterically (sp), and the next moment she's giving psychotherapy lectures to her Dad while standing right in front of an alien. That's silly.

Re: Cruise, I like how he uses the fact that he always smiles to hide his thoughts. The guy always smiles, and when he has serious roles he generally sucks at it because of that, but the scene at his ex-wife's house, when he makes sandwiches for the kids while telling jokes and finally throws everything across the room, that one was genius. He acted the same in Eyes Wide Shut, always having that stupid grin while being in the most impossible situation.

I hav'nt read the book, but apparently Robbin's character Ogilvy was an amalgamation of three different characters. It really floundered towards the end. I liked that it did'nt feel it had to go for a big slam-bang ending, but it fells rushed and runs out of steam. Tim Robbins is'nt in it long enough to make a convincing impact, either. And Miranda Otto was shamefully ignored.

Another film that kind of disappointed me was Charlie and The Chocolate factory. The only real problem I had was with the Chocolate factory itself, but then that's mostly what the film is concerned with!! They just rush through it, and there was plenty of opportunity for more imaginative stuff. I would have sat through another 20 mins/half hour of it, if Tim Burton had added some creaive flair. But there you go.

'War of the Worlds', I watched it this weekend. I prefer the vinyl version. Add another ruined book to the list.

But as everybody told me that the movie sucked, I didn't find it bad at all. Bad, but not at all. They have air conditioned in cinemas, you know? It has to be a very bad movie to make me not enjoy it. As 'The Machinist' was. That one sucked a lot.

Cat 'O Nine Tails? I don't think I 've seen that. I've seen The Bird With The Crystal Plummage, Deep Red (Profundo Rosso), Suspiria, Trauma, Phenomena, Opera, The Stendhal Syndrome and Sleepless. I don't think I've seen Four Flies On Grey Velvet. Suspiria is my favorite Argento movie!

I just saw National Treasure. The core subject matter is extremely interesting, but this was so by the numbers, it was laughable. And for those of you not patient enough for the Da Vinci Code movie, this is essentially the same thing.

Yesterday I watched the Royal Tenenbaums. It was OK, not as great as The Life Aquatic though. Too much eccentricity for the sake of it, and the movie isn't really funny. For instance Ben Stiller's character is useless and doesn't have any funny line or meaningful scene, so why bother taking 10 minutes to introduce him.
I still liked the movie.

I saw two good British horror movies. I just finished watching Creep, with Franka Potente. Weird stuff, and pretty gruesome. As was The Descent which I also watched recently. The Descent was the better of the two and it has certainly been getting some excellent reviews.

I also watched Spiderman 2 on Friday night. I was a bit dissapointed with it really. I usually am with comic book adaptions though.
