Homers, then Frank would have to hate Sir Rock and Broken Face and there's no way Frank's gonna do that.
Frank is just gonna have to live with the cinematic differences between him and three of his biggest fans, is all.

i watched (most of) DIG last night. documentary about the Dandy Warhols and Brian Jonestown Massacre rivalry.. (as previously mentioned by broken face)
while interesting, i just couldn't deal with watching these self-obsessed asshole pricks. i like rock and roll music. but i hate drugged-out asshole rock and roll people who think they're larger than life because they play in a fucking band. it had a definite fun-to-laugh-at-them quality.. and it's an interesting insight into the insanity of the music industry and rock and roll. but i just didn't care for any of these people.
even though they, admittedly, make some pretty good music.

the egos in DiG were really funny, as previously stated. Anton is pretty much insane, where as the Dandys are just so full of themselves. i did enjoy the music, though. but i find it a little suspect that the dandy's footage goes on until 2002 or 2003, where the BJM stuff stops in 1997 'cept for that one piece of footage. and the fact that courtney taylor-taylor narrates it, definetely gives it a pro-Dandy's edge

what makes it pro-dandy is that Newcombe is such an asshole that anybody looks good next to him! (and the dandys don't look very good in this film!!) |

I agree with Son, and I add that Newcombe has no talent, and that it's a shame that people like him have the opportunity to sign million dollars contracts for a music that is just a cliché and a pale copy of some great albums from the 60's. There's so many bands nowadays that have much more imagination and creativity, and honesty, and humility that people like Newcombe and the whole buzz around his band and this film makes me wanna puke.

if you watch the delted scenes/special features on DiG there is a thing about how anton told his band members that he went into the prison that charles manson is held in and recorded songs with him, which is pretty much impossible.
also in the 'where are they now' section, matt hollywood got fucking fat! some say i look a lot like him, so i hope i don't turn out that way!

I'm not too certain but do you mean there are different versions of the pilot epsiode?
For some strange reason the American DVD release does not include the pilot episode. I had to buy the series twice, the UK version had the pilot included.
The pilot episode is brilliant wilhelm |

Anyone saw Ladies In Lavender? I've been urged by five different persons to go see this film. I always trust their judgment but something about the title makes me not want to go see it.

I just watched Coffee And Cigarettes and I enjoyed it very much. The opening scene was just brilliant, my favorite, but I enjoyed them all. Steve Coogan was as brilliant as ever. I liked the way they played themselves, yet not.
Oh and Renee French is just beautiful in this film.
The short film by Bill Murray (with the track Midnight Jam by Joe Strummer And The Mescaleros) was cool too.

Floop, you just went up major marks in my book. Hairdreser's Husband is totally one of my favorite movies. I once rented a guy an apartment I was helping to manage solely on the fact he liked the movie.
