My kids gave me because today's mother's day, and it's amazing, the little films are beautiful, as their music.

Hollywood loves an epic. Just ask Mel Gibson.

shiny, i've actually seen it already (DARK WATER).. at a screening way back. apparently they've re-shot some stuff for it, so i'm sure it's a little different.
i'll reserve my critique till it comes out |

I saw 'The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy' over the weekend and would like to recommend that people avoid this terrible film. |

watching it (again) makes me wish (again) that MULHOLLAND DRIVE would have been the tv series it was intended to be. not that i don't like the movie. but another David Lynch tv series would be fucking awesome.
where is season 2 is a good question |

Apparently there was tons of footage shot for that, obviously because, as you say floop, it was gonna be TV series. It would be very interesting to see that stuff! |

I saw a bit of Reign Of Fire last night-I saw it in the cinema when it first came out, and was'nt too impressed. It's a really irritating movie, full of corny movie histronics and melodrama. The best thing about it is the dragon CGI, some decent effects work. |

my slightly odd but hillarious friends in college told me they had an idea to adapt that film into a musical, but never had actually seen the film and would bill it as "a musical REIGN OF FIRE from two guys who only saw the trailer for REIGN OF FIRE"
funny stuff

Yesterday I watched COLOR OF MONEY. That was pretty good. I like Scorsese, I like Newman and I like Cruise. Watching the end credits I noticed Iggy Pop has a cameo in the movie but I didn't see him. The soundtrack sucked though. Strange for a Scorsese movie.

I just watched "Sasquatch Hunters". I didn't like it at all. I am surprised at how truly awful it was. When I first read the cover I was like "Ooooo! This looks good!". But after watching it I was left with an empty feeling inside. Kind of like regret for wasting 90 minutes of my life on the couch watching this movie titled "Sasquatch Hunters". I feel more fulfilled watching my chameleons move two inches over the course of three hours than I did watching "Sasquatch Hunters" Those of you that have this on their Netflix list (MonkeyBoy) should remove it. Two thumbs down. Way down.

I just watched "The Unbearable Lightness Of Being", it's the second time that I watch this movie, the first must have been some 15 years ago, so it was very good to remember it all again. It's beautiful, and Juliette Binoche is so yound there. I loved it.

I just watched the greatest Hard Country Blues show that I've ever, ever, seen. Fucking Aye, It was all that and more. I haven't had time to process it yet, but it's all in me and I got to get it out...so, for the unedited, uncut, undeleted version of Rich & Joshua's show tonight at Layla's Bluegrass Inn, here in Guitar Town, I've got to write about it now, delete it later!
Son of a bitch, they left nothing in their pockets, anything Joshua & Rich might have stashed away at the Family Wash April 7th, their brought it all out tonight and then some. Joshua had said that Rich would be on high octane, and that was no lie. That son of a bitch had his game-face on from the getgo. I found Joshua at the bar just a few minutes before the show started. I bought him a shot, a beer, and picked his brain concerning his last two albums, "HellBent and BrokenHearted (2004)" and "17th & Shelby (2002)". I had initially got into Hellbent and only recently started listening to 17th & Shelby. On both albums Joshua includes about 6 songs that are Hard Country Blues and 6 songs that are heart-wrenching love songs. He told me about the new bass player, Aaron, and drummer, Nate, and a little bit about his upcoming. I also found out the name of his signature closing number, "All my Friends are Druggies and Drunkards" where he mixes in a little "Amazing Grace" and some traditional country/gospel song that I can't recall at the moment, I'll think of it later. I really can't give a specific, detailed review of the songs and set, I'm really trippin right now. Combination of being Blown Away by Rich & Joshua, a little drink, a little smoke, and a whole lot of really good vibes...after the show, which by the way ended at 2 a.m., three fucking glorious hours of righteous music...like I said, can't talk about the individual songs right now, still trippin, the old fashion way, no hallucigins, just good music and real vibes...OK, this is the part that I'll delete tomorrow...probably all of it and start over...but, like I said it's in me and I've got to get it out, now. On the way home, I listened to John Butler Trio, Surise over Sea. I've got a couple of good pictures of the show tonight. I'll post them, along with the official review in the next couple of days. Gotta another night of music tomorrow, payback to Mrs. CoffeeCan for tonight....I went solo tonight, no Julia, no Heidi, just me...which was actually pretty nice...no one to fuck with me, no one to consider is probably a better way to say that...I used to go out and listen to bands all of the time by myself...Once you get that I don't give a fuck attitude, it can be quite nice....Anyway, still trippin on that "natural" high, you know, a mixture of music, adrenalin, and self-reflection....Well, it's quiet here now, [hell it oughtta be, it's 3 o'clock in the fucking morning] except the sound of my PC keyboard and some more John Butler Trio...I think I'll have a Amberbock and smoke, and see where this trip leads me...Good night!

I Heart Huckabees. Brilliant. Such an original movie. You have to marvel at the minds that come up with films like this.
I really liked Jason Schwartzman. He was very good in Spun too. Old Marky Mark was good too.

I saw Downfall yesterday, a German film about Hitler's last days, which is getting a lot of press because it shows Hitler as a real human being. It's excellent, I highly recommend it. It's actually more shocking because it shows the nazis as real human beings. You almost pity them, yet the film dos'nt try to excuse or explain they're actions or by showing them this way, it just feels true. In fact, Goebbels for instance actually crys at one point, but his portrayal is absolutely monstrous. There are some excellent performances. Swiss actor Bruce Ganz is astonishing as Hitler. The film shows the ordinary people of Berlin being left to die, while Hitler and his cohorts live in the relative luxury of his bunker complex. |
