Non! Another faux pas! Is this as bad as my misspelling Chuckie de Gaulle's name wrong?

Hey Kathryn, next time I'm in the lovely state of Vermont I'd sit for your kids while you and Mr. Kathryn can catch a few flicks. I'm pretty well versed in the art of the baby-sit.
Brian, I'm with you 100% on Huckabees, I could barely sit through it. I'm considering watching it again though, for the sole reason that I think I approached the movie from the wrong angle. When originially viewing it, I was expecting something serious, well thought out, etc. I think that if I saw it again, and expected a more ridiculous plot, with some innane characters, I might enjoy it more. I'd be willing to give it another chance under different conditions in a few months.
Over the past week I saw the following movies:
-City of God: Incredible. So far my best movie of 2005. -Mean Creek: Entertaining at most. Predictable. -Cellular: I hate to admit it, but I had fun. William H. Macy always entertains, even in a trashy action thriller. Very reminiscent of Phone Booth (which I didn't like though). -The Forgotten: Terrible. God-Awful. Doesn't need elaboration. -Million Dollar Baby: Loved it. Only really weak point was Clint's performance. I thought that he didn't bring much to the role. Swank and Morgan Freeman were both incredible though, and I thought that they both deserve the Oscars that they won.

I saw Sideways at last, I was a bit worried that I was expecting too much but ended enjoying it tremendously. Did anyone read the novel? It looks like it could be worthwhile to read and also maybe the novel has a different ending.

Sir Mike
When do you arrive?
(We're getting a bunch of snow from tonight until Thursday or something insane like that. Check out some real skiing after that cushy Aspen powder!)

I've only seen Army of Darkness. I actually could watch it now if I like; I accidentally stole it from Blockbuster. (It was an accident, I swears!)
K, that snow of which you speak got me out of school early today at noon, and hopefully will keep me out tomorrow. I sing it's praises.

I agree with you Brian, hence the sig. Which reminds me, I still have Army Of Darkness to watch at some point. My favourite part in ED2 was definitely trapping the hand under the bucket, and the book that Ash put on top. Genius.
I just watched Look Around You (not a film, so don't ask). Some interesting facts: Q. Who owns the world's most expensive computer: A. Tony Curtis
Q. Which food product contains over a million ingredients? A. 'Ultimate' Shepherds Pie
Ash wields the chainsaw attached to the stump where his hand used to be and straps a sawn-off shotgun across his back Ash: "Groovy" |

I just watched a great film that I had never even heard about before I watched it. Frequency. Excellent idea, well executed. I love nice surprises like that. Best film I have seen recently. |

Snow White: A Tale Of Terror. An interesting adaption of the Grimm fairytale, with a slight reworking. I think they should make more dark adaptions of such tales. Signorney Weaver was excellent. I like that woman. |

Both were enjoyable movies.

Remake or original Step. Wives? Because one sucked and the other was good.

Baise Moi. Now THAT'S how they should have made Thelma & Louise.
Seriously, I have never seen sex scenes like that in a 'regular' film before. I wonder if the Frenchies here know about it. |

Homers, this is a family forum! Watch your language. Do you know what that means in French?
(Is that the name of a movie you just watched?)

today i watched 'the rutles 2 : can't buy me lunch" - i was hoping for a 25 years later 'where are they now' type thing - but its just interviewing celebrities about how much they love/respect the rutles. had its moments - mainly thanks to tom hanks and conan o'brien, but pretty much a waste.

Thats is indeed the name of the film, and yes I know what it means, though it also translates as 'kiss me' (not the intended translation here though, as there is a whole lot more fucking than kissing). |

I just saw The Rules Of Attraction. Good to see that the characters remain as dispicable in the film as they were in the book. Except for the girl who kills herself, that was pretty sad. |

What did you see in that movie that you can't believe you saw, Homers?
I just saw "The Last Testament: The Making of London Calling," yet again. I still can't believe what I saw in it.

The first rule of Baise Moi is you do not talk about Baise Moi.
Seriously though, it was hardcore porn for large parts of it. It really was like they took Thelma And Louise and decided to go all out with it, and try their best to get it banned. Just not what you expect for a 'regular' film. I have since found out that it was given the same classification as hardcore porn in France, and there are two ex-porn actors in it (the two leading ladies). |

Last night I saw Thirteen Conversations about One Thing. I was pretty dissapointed. I didn't know what to expect coming in, a friend brought it over, and I had never heard about it. I thought that the acting was subpar, and a potentially cool idea wasn't used to its full advantage.

I really like that film for some reason. The sound track is great too. My only complaint is the guy that plays the coke dealer. Tone it down a bit dude. Like that crack house would even exist in that white bread town. Other than that good flick.

I almost forgot, I watched Evil Dead on Sunday night for the first time (I know, where have I been). Not impressed at all. Army of Darkness is much better, this one isn't funny at all (and obviously it isn't remotely scary). I am at a loss to find anything that explains why it is considered a classic. |
