I'm currently listening to My life is in storage(off Honeycomb)and a live version of The Holiday song on constant repeat.Just because they're amazing and proper vintage Frank. If the Pixies done a live version of My life is in storage, and beefed it up a bit I reckon it would be even cooler!! |

I'm listenig to Bam Thwok. When was the last time you listened to this song? It's been a while for me. I have to say I really do like it. Reminds me of summer. Very summery. |

Is it very wrong of me not to have heard Bam Thwok (I have to confess my sins) even though I own every Pixies and Frank recording known to mankind. I'm very lazy when it comes to internet stuff, I have to own it on some sort of format for it to be tangible. Anyway had to listen to Cult of Ray since I've been encountering lots of Ray Bradbury stuff the last couple of days.

"Down in the Hole"
I was reminded of an old joke (Why does a Dog lick his balls [sorry for the adult content] when my wife asked me while listening to this song, "why does he sing like that"...and the punchline/only response is..."because he can"...

"Show Me Your Tears" ("I gave you all I can, I use to be your man...I puked my guts and you gave me a cheer, you said give me more if you really can...") come on, does it get any better than this...I don't think so...and all for the price of a "value combo meal" at your favorite fast food, if you know what I mean...

i still get the goosebumps at the "but does she have I.Q, for the moon" part when it breaks back into the intro. That is one of my greateset fb song moments ever. My girl sniggers to herself when she sees those little bumps appear on my forearms, you know when something just fills you with instant joy(?). Apparantly she loves me for it.
I need a pick me up tonight so i got the orange/yellow/ orange not sure album playing. At the mo i'm on Fu Manchu, my fu manchu
cornered the boy kicked out at the world, the world kicked back alot fuckin' harder

"Ole Mulholland" (once again)
Hey Guitar Man, I saw your post earlier but just now able to get a post back. Oh yeah, can't argue with that (especially if it gets you some lovin from your girl) nice return to the intro after "but does have I.Q. for the Moon",
and hey, how 'bout the guitar right after that part, doesn't it sound very "The Cure" ish?
And, what about the machine gun guitar right before "All waxed in pride I've got a comfortable ride and man she could take us..." Is that not cool as shit, or what.
Helluva of song, no doubt!

'splain please, do you mean the songs (newer ones I suppose) no longer contain those moments, or you miss them as in overlook them? If its the latter, then our mission should help with that, and if its the former, then maybe they are there and we've just got to listen closer, or maybe The Man doesn't do that anymore (how sad would that be!)

i mean the little quirky noises and moments of frank black solo of old power pop chords and distortion bordering on the dirty words of alternative rock
the catholics took him away from all this i believe, but not a bad thing. different.
it all looks beautiful to me

"Men in Black" (from the Teenager of the Year extra CD)
Damn, what a mellow version of this song, if such a thing is possible, Frank sounds as if he's singing on Valiums, and the hand-clapping, soul style, nice touch, didn't I read in one of Sir Jon Tiven's post that he and his wife provided the backing vocals and hand-claps on this one? |

You did. And correct that is.
I love the live version with it's soft 'you believe it", then the shouted "YOU BETTER!" have you heard the version on Black Sessions: Live in Paris (of course you have), Nick fooks up somewhere in the song but still sounds as sweet.
Based on nostalgia, this is my favourite track ever.
(oops! too many evers for the literates)
it all looks beautiful to me
