Andy, I just had vegan cafeteria-produced haggis for lunch. Two hours later and I'm not dead yet. We have one lone professor who's a Scot (actually the theatre person I'm subbing for this term) so the college has a Burns Day lunch every year with frightening approximations of Scottish food. They're getting better at it, but the vegetarian cock-a-leekie soup left much to be desired. (They used to try to make the haggis and it was a nightmare. Now they order it from a Scottish butcher in New Jersey and it seems correct.) Very odd and two days early.
Yeah, I'm holding on to hopes of a February shag. |

| If it's any consolation, my day is approaching the Hellish as well. Just caught Z working her pb&j sandwich into her collage--she's cutting it with scissors and gluing it to the paper. This is what I get for feeding her at the craft table while I feed my internet addiction. |

Happy Friday, partysaurus peoples! Just finished class for today. Thanks so much for all your (im)moral support--it totally got me through. Zanni, you're right; the first day is definitely the worst. Today was much easier. My tiny class is a great bunch of students, and I have finally realized that the sheeple are the enemy. I'm just going to have to attack them until they learn something. (One guy slept a mere five feet in front of me this morning. He's going to get a nice emailed memo about the wonders of caffeine.)
Nina Simone sounds like the backdrop for a fine weekend, Bazza. I think I'm going to be cranking up some Screaming Jay Hawkins.
Tonight Bobby will be in a staged reading of a play at the college. Let me tell you, it's a special moment in a marriage when you get to watch your husband play a transsexual in full drag. They somehow managed to find size 13 strappy high-heeled sandals. I'm sure he'll be cute as a bug's ear. (A 6'4", 210 pound, red-haired, chip-toothed bug's ear. He's going to make some people very uncomfortable.)
