No rug burns for this guy. Only authentic flames will do. Drummer boy? Cookies? |

I did bring the cookies - but there was no "other" action. It is a weird situation - we were friends for a long time, and then kissed in May and since then we have been trying to figure out how we can be friends again - last night was the first time I had been alone with him at the scene of the crime.
It is like we are trying to hard to avoid talking about it - it is just a big pink elephant in the room. Why must these things be so complicated? |

Not easy, is it? Has he mentioned events in May at all? |

We talked about it at length in June with mixed results. Then we didn't really talk until August and two weeks ago was really the first time we hung out alone (when he basically called me out of the blue). It is just so weird, I never thought it would go down (ahem) like it has. I have missed him, so hanging out with him last night and talking for like two hours was really nice, & neither one of us brought up the whole subject of US. Eh, I dunno... |

Oh, I really don't know. I may take the Henhouse down a notch - but it is all so complicated now. I had been wishing that we had done something more than kissing if it was going to effectively ruin our friendship but now it seems that the merry go round may be running again, so who knows?
Those drummer arms though - woah. I would like to eat one like corn on the cob. |

So he probably isn't a 'little' drummer boy then. Hope that merry-go-round is indeed still running. But maybe he fears being devoured? |

Bazza, you're back! We missed you. Things haven't been nearly as debauched without you. Hope you had a good holiday. And good for you, Andy! You may not need that 12-step program after all.
Mmm, drummer arms . . .why must they always be attached to confused drummers? Hang in there, girl.
Anybody have fun New Year's plans? I think I have a date with a 4-year old and a Monsters, Inc. DVD. Either that or a party with other parents where we furtively try to get hammered and hope that our children won't brain each other while we attempt to engage in adult conversation. Sigh. I think I'll take the movie. |

Thanks, Sarah. Your New Years plans sound right up my alley. I will be home I think, drinking wine and watching the ball drop. Unless I go to my friends and help her pack for a move this weekend to New York City. Big fun either way! Have I mentioned that I do not like New Years? Expectations! Excitment! Ahhh!
Bah humbug. |

Well, I'm off to the big town to buy teaching clothes, whatever the hell those might be. I'm assuming that I need something more presentable than jeans and my ratty old Glass Eye t-shirt. Feh. As the date of doom draws near, I am more and more apprehensive of re-entering the world of employment. Now I get to do two jobs. yippee!
Em, I think your New Year's humbug has rubbed off! ; ) |

Yeah, I am passing it through the miles and to the Henhouse. Sorry!
It's just the PRESSURE TO DO SOMETHING FUN that annoys me, I guess. Like your life is going to change because the number does. Puhleeze.
To paraphrase Scrooge "keep New Year's in your own way and I'll keep it in mine!" |

I used to love New year's celebrations. Now with two kids I predict that I will be asleep by 1am. When is the date of doom Sarah? |

the year is ticking away slowly...doesn't 2003 seem like just a BIG number you never thought would come? It does to me.
Being at home with the family sounds nice to me. At least you know you will have many lovely people to smooch! |

Hey all you lovies... sorry I've been a little absent. No naughtiness to report, just plain old regular sucky life getting in the way! Oh well...
Andy, you are our hero, good for you on last night's romantic encounter!! At least someone in here is geting some. You and Sarah too, she did shower with her boy recently and um, broke a bed or something, didn't she?? Remind us, please, Sarah darling!
Em, you made me laugh out loud about the drummer-arms and corn-on-the-cob! I hope things work out as they should... you deserve to be happy my Dear.
I'm going out and will be seeing my favorite local band, and the lead guitarist guy is giving me guitar lessons, so that is pretty cool. Anyway, that should be fun. Sooo, have to get back to work and finish up all my chores before it gets too late.
Wishing you every good thing in the New Year, you are all wonderful, and I'm so grateful to have found you all through this wonderful medium of communication. Much love to all of you!
XXOO, Zan

Happy New Years! Oh, I feel so old . . . I had two drinks and two cigarettes and now I have to go to bed. Pathetic!
Hope you all had a good night. I too am so grateful to have these nice exchanges with you all. The modern age never ceases to amaze me. It's like having friendly little elves inside my computer!
Whoa, maybe those beers had more effect than I thought . . . : P

Hey everyone! Happy 2003!
Hope you are all recovering nicely from at least a somewhat exciting evening... Did anyone here cry like me when the ball dropped?? Try that in a crowded pub!
Let the (new) good times roll, Zan

Happy new year! How was the band Zan? I managed to say up until 1.05am - woo hoo! And then we woke to our first snow of the winter. However, sledging is not easy with only 1mm of slush |

Hey, thanks Oddball. I'm trying!
The band was great, they were fun to hang with. Wow, your first snow! Ours here is all melting due to rain today. Lovely stay-in-bed-and-curl-up-with-a-good-book weather. Or a good man...

Oh, and Andy, has your "firstfooter" (or first visitor) arrived at your threshold yet today?? If so, what did they have to bring or say? I don't know if you follow that Scotish tradition...
