Apart from the obvious 'classics' that everyone picks, I love 'No.13 Baby', 'Break My Body' and 'Dead'....also, 'Hangwire' and 'Bailey's Walk' are really cool, to name but a couple.

I've always liked "Dead" too. "River Euphrates" as well. The opening 3 tracks on live at the BBC always kill it. The Psychotic cover of The Beatle's "Wild Honey Pie", followed by a blistering "There Goes my Gun" and rounded off with a crushing, rampaging version of "Dead".

What constitutes a classic? General acceptence as great amound Pixies fans, or the well known ones like Debaser, Mind, Monkey etc?

It's the cool, nonchalant, off-the cuff songs that often have that magical charm!

Caribou, Levitate Me, Ana, In Heaven. Apart from Ana, no-one ever seems to pick them. It makes me sad...

Would cheese be part of the deal? Somehow, I think I know the answer. I bet you'd just break my heart like crumbly feta though...I've seen it all before.

I don't think I want to answer that question, it borders on the suggestive. I would think any heartbreak would be more of a soft and slow Camembert drooping kind of scenario, though.

I seem to adopt a bit of a manic grin every time I play Sad Punk. There are few songs out there with more gusto.

at the moment i'm really liking the 2nd half of trompe le monde, bird dream of the olympus mons (even more so now with all the news about mars), distance equals rate times time, motorway to roswell and navajo know... but normally my faves are Bone Machine, No. 13 Baby, Hey, The Happening...

There are a few half-baked songs on Bossa and Trompe....Blown Away could almost be a great song...it's a subtle thing-a fine line-an enigma wrapped in an enigma etc!

I know it seems odd, but I put all the Pixies songs equal in their greatness, but one song pokes its head out above the others just a little bit, and that would be Santo. Am I just being weird?

That's a pretty cool B-side...I love the way the electric comes crashing in, then fades again.

My absolute favorite Pixies song is "Velouria." Soon after I bought Bossanova, it overtook my previous favorite, "Motorway To Roswell."

"All Over The World" for me - that bit three-quarters of the way through with the voice that sounds like a muffled radio transmission is unbelievably atmospheric. I never tire of that song.
