Instead, I was just gonna take a shit in front of WalMart. Cause that's how I feel about them.

I was with some friends of mine once in a grocery store at about 3am, after a night of heavy drinking and music making. As we were walking up the glass-walled freezer aisle in search of burritos, one of the group got this really weird look on his face and he stopped. He looked around cautiously for a moment, then started shaking his leg. A medium sized turd fell out of his pant leg, and he started to laugh. Then we got our burritos and left. I bet he would go to Wal Mart with you. Don't let him near the whipped cream cans though - he might pass out again.

In El Sereno (south of Pasadena), I saw a bum pull his pants halfway down and squirt diarrhea over them. I threw away the second half of my donut and drove away. |

we've got some classic homeless guys in Venice too BLT.
i saw a guy doing the same thing.. ie. taking a shit on the sidewalk. the thing was, he was facing outward, for all to see. so that everyone had a nice unobstructed view of the actual feces being expelled from his ass.
you would think that in a private moment like that, though already in public, you would at least make some attempt at being discreet. ie. shit towards the wall, instead of towards the crowds of people driving and walking by.
despite seeing that, i still managed to finish the second half of my donut. |

Me and a couple of my friends once went to Wal-Mart late one night while drunk and stoned. While there, we took a condom (unused) and filled it with white handsoap at the tip. Then we hung it on the door handle and sat nearby in my friends car, watching people's reactions upon discovering it. Finally someone got a security guard, and he came out and started looking in our direction, and so we left.

Oh come on bumblebeeboy...it's not all that gross if you just imagine the serene vista of the freezer aisle at 3am. No one in sight. Shiny glass doors all the way down, angling slightly toward their vanishing point out on the horizon...the lilt of "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" done up muzak style...the high shine on the tile floor - and there, resting placidly in the center...the lone turd of the apocalypse.
It's a beautiful thing. Especially after you suck the nitrous oxide out of the whipped cream cans. And put them back.

My favorite thing about wal-mart is that it forces a lot of shitty stores out of business. At first those stores try to keep wal-mart out of town so that shoppers don't have a choice. It's usually family-owned businesses that have been around for decades, and they say things in the papers like, " Here at our store, we know our customers by name. We give that friendly, neighborly service that you don't get at a "big box" store". Then a year after a wal-mart opens in town, they shut down. I love it. The truth is, they just don't want the competition. They know wal-mart can do everything better, faster, for less money and at more convenient times. If those downtown stores really thought they were better than wal-mart then they wouldn't care if one came to town. It's funny I never see stories in the paper about the managers of a wal-mart complaining because another store is opening nearby. It's funny how people who supposedly believe in freedom of choice, suddenly get very upset when people have a choice between shitty local stores and a wal-mart. |

Heh heh heh. People losing jobs to the big corporation trying to monopolize the retail industry of the free world... People that have been in business for years who could never compete with Wal-Mart due to the sheer volume they buy in... People unemployed with little money to clothe and feed themselves and their families... Cool! Yeah yeah. |

The problem with Wal-Mart is more that consumers continue to shop there. If people were more willing to pay an extra few dollars to buy it from an honorable establishment and if they themselves weren't driven so much by the almighty dollar (obviously we all are to some extent), places like Wal-Mart wouldn't exist. I'd rather buy at/patronize somewhere with a bit of heart myself, but how many of us still go there. Or to the big chain restaurants? Or electronics stores? Or ...? You could argue that maybe they're not hiring illegal immigrants, maybe they're not forcing out unions (which, incidentally, I am completely OK with), or using sweatshops in the heart of Africa, or maybe they are and you don't know it, but, well, I think you see my point...

Jimmy, it's called overseas sweatshops, unfair overtime and pay raise practices, and THE LARGEST RETAIL COPRORATION IN THE WORLD. How you gonna compete with a comapny that makes demands of distributors and manufacturers to lower their prices to a little above cost (wholesale), at cost OR MANY TIMES BELOW? They can make those demands because for many of Wal-Mart's suppliers, it is their largest client by far. That is not competition.

I think you have a confused notion of what communism is, jimmy. Either that, or you're joking. I hope it's the latter.

He was just kidding; he doesn't have anything against Canadians, he just doesn't like their health care system. |

you guys just wait till you have your very own compony and you are doing very well and all these little pukes try to hold you down because they can't compeate on what you are selling and they cry and whine all day long, I'm sure you'd have a different view. You would want your company to do it's best and give the people the best for their money and a good value. I don't make a whole bunch of money to shop at little store for everyday things that are marked up 3x then what it is at walmart. You people would want me to save a few bucks so I can get better stuff for people at christmas time, you would rather me pay an outragouse price at some mom and pop store in a little backwater town, I say forget that BS! |

All I want to say is that anyone who doesn't want to shop there has a choice, they don't have to. And anyone who wants to get rid of Wal-Mart is free to open a store to compete with them. Wal-mart may be trying to get a monopoly but they are doing it the right way- by being the best at what they do. Local downtown stores are trying to get a monopoly by getting cities and towns to not allow Wal-Marts to open. It's very unsportsman-like. |

I agree, Wal-Mart should be allowed to open where they want as a store, but that doesn't mean I agree with them or any other company exploiting what is essentially slave labour to compete. I'd rather pay a little more and at least do my little part. Obviously, some people are ignorant to what's going on, others are OK with it, and still more are not OK with it but 50 cents is 50 cents. You'll notice that no one is stopping you from shopping there, only suggesting that you think about the ramifications so you're not in the first category.
