It seems to me that there is so much affection in this forum for about two weeks. This is not good in a Pixies forum.
Then, I decide to start a topic about bands and solo artists you hardly hate for a special (or not) reason.
I start:
- Christina Aguilera, because she have become a Pop Star singing only background vocals in her own songs.
- Atomic Kitten, for make a cover of Eternal Flame without never have listen the original track.
- Robbie Williams, not for his musical aptitudes but for his not deserved Star attitude.
And in an unpatriotic act here you are two too-well-known spanish "artists":
- Enrique Iglesias.
- Alejandro Sanz.
P.S.: This topic is for an entertainment purpose. I don't pretend to be a Taste's Judge or something. This will be so stupid.

Christina Aguilera is sexy and (supposedly) a freak. Gotta love that. She has filled out so nicely now....real shape to her. And I take offense that you would mention Ms. Aguilera and then not also mention Britney Spears in the same sentence. Shame on you.
PS, I didnt know she sings! If you lower the volume on the TV, while playing anything you like on you stereo...she actually "sounds" pretty good then!

My sister loves Atomic Kitten, and often plays their music loud around the house. (Eternal Flame isn't their worst, sadly)
This makes me cry, then play something better, louder.

There's not much of an arguement. No matter who likes them, Nirvana were a great band. Kurt had a great ear for melody, and that's all that matters. The lyrical content was at times predictable, but also, a lot of it was very genius.
As for artists that annoy me, I hate pretty much all these pop punk bands. They should just go by Blink 1, Blink 2, Blink 3 and so on. 50 cent annoys me, his music is just recycled garbage, it's nothing new, it's nothing special. I don't hate rap though, Snoop Dogg I find really interesting, and he's himself, he doesn't rap about shit to be popular. None of the Britney types bother me except for Avril. Why does she continue to pretend to write her own songs? Basically, I just hate liars, and people who are just clones of everything else out there.

I love Nirvana and Alice In Chains but hate Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.
I love The White Stripes and the Vines but hate The Strokes and The Hives.
I love Venom and Slayer but I hate Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeath.
I love Black Flag but hate the Circle Jerks.
I love Method Man but hate the rest of the Wu Tang Clan.
I love Tupac but hate Notorious B.I.G.
I love the Kinks, but hate the Who (are they even supposed to be comprable?).
I think Hendrix, Elvis, Chuck Berry and the Rolling Stones are good, but over-rated.
I can't stand B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Santana, Cream, Rodney Dangerfield, Coldplay, Rancid, The Casualties and Liam Lynch.
Please don't tell me "I don't care what you say, no one can deny the musical genius of (insert band which I've said I don't like) because they're just so good and important and original etc," I have already denied their "musical genius" and anyone who's so arrogant as to think their opinion is universally correct telling me I'm wrong for disagreeing with them won't do any more than make me dislike band x even more.

with regards to Nirvana, I've noticed that most people who were there when they actually changed the face of MTV seem to respect them alot more than youngsters who were still sucking pacifiers when Kurt swallowed a shotgun shell.....sort of like alot of people in their 20's and 30's feel about the Beatles.

I like this post. This guy doesn't like a bunch of cool bands that I like, but I really don't care because its so obviously his opinion, like its my opinion that I like widdly guitar bits but can't stand to listen to more than a minute of Joe Satriani, just as an example.
I could so easily say, "Dude, what are you thinking of slagging the Cure off," but what would be the point?
