i've been spinning ted leo's last two releases incessantly - 2001's "the tyranny of distance" and last year's "hearts of oak". i'm impressed more with each listen. shades of thin lizzy wearing a young elvis costello's shades, slipping into a sweet, liquid falsetto for dramatic effect. very energetic, kinetic, but reasonably restrained - most songs top out at under three minutes.

anyone else into these guys?

That Rude Boys song is very awesome, but that's pretty much all I've heard. Which CD do you likey more?

I'm more into Sean Na Na, who's closely tied to Ted Leo (T.L. played on some early Sean Na Na albums if I remember right)....similar styles

as of now, i think the earlier record is more solid - song for song. "rude boys" is on the more recent release - a great tune, very catchy.

both albums are great, really great and relatively easy to (ahem, cough) download using software like soulseek.

i plan to buy them both! really i do!

i saw 'em in the middle of last year and started a thread about 'em. i think Ted Leo should let the girl sing more background vocals.. she's a babe.

wasn't trying to one-up you galoof, just concurring with the ted leo/pharmacists appreciation sentiment.

i kind of burnt out on them, but i still like 'em. he's great live..

Hey, they're playing a free show at the coffeehouse here in Davis next week. I'll try to venture out of the house and see them.
