I MISSPOKE EARLIER. WATER COULD BE PURIFIED SOMEWHAT, BUT ONCE IT WAS, IT STILL COULDN'T BE STORED WITHOUT SPOILING MUCH QUICKER THAN BEER. THEY DIDN'T HAVE AIRTIGHT CONTAINERS THEN LIKE WE DO NOW....I'VE EVEN HEARD RUMORS THAT THEY ONLY HAD BLACK AND WHITE TELEVISION

Not that I like to promote this sort of back and forth though I've been guilty of it myself in trying to persuade stitches politely to drop the caps to no avail(as we just witnessed again when Carolyn asked and received an incredibly rude and ignorant 'I assure you we all care'), I suspect his name comes from the fact that his face is probably held together by stitches from all the beatings he receives daily for being an ignorant asshole. I'm fairly certain we could hold a vote as to whose opinion is more respected and pretty much anyone else on the forum would win.
Sorry, I'll revert to ignoring/not reading all ALL CAPS posts again as I suggest you all do, but that particular comment pissed me off.

Sorry - only people who have seen Brass Eye will get that which probably rules out anyone not from the UK and maybe most of those who are. In fact I am probably just chuckling to myself. In an interesting link however, Chris Morris (the guy who wrote and starred in Brass Eye) is a huge Pixies fan and wrote a spoof Pixies song which you can find on Kazaa - it's bloomin' hilarious and sounds very much like the Pixies. Check it out, though I believe some of you already have. |

Pot. Alcohol. Both have their place in my chemical ingestion habits.
However.....all things considered....if I had to forsake one forever and keep the other, there is no doubt in my mind that pot would be the keeper.
Not a day goes by when I don't hope that politicians and lawmakers will take their heads up their stinking assholes and LEGALIZE THE HERB. it's as much of an American legacy as alcohol, but for some reason it is the "bastard child", the dirty stepchild that people want to keep locked up in a closet or something. For fuck's sake, alcohol is more harmful to you in almost every single way....i'm not going to start on a rant, but let me just say this...
Number of deaths related to pot-smoking in the history of the world = ZERO
Number of deaths related to alcohol-poisoning in the history of the world = a whole lot more than zero.
So, when the government takes this "stance" that they are protecting us from the harmful evils of pot, I smell the horse-shit from a mile away.
