hey all, pretty sure this is my first post. i've been a lurker here at the boards for awhile. i'm also starting to see the genius of mr. black's solo work...
anyhow a serious question for the toking pixies fans out there...
the song hey. i was pretty high one evening, and listened surfer rosa and doolittle. i am pretty sure that hey sounds ten times better on weed. the way he drags out hey towards the end where his voice cracks towards the end. the best part is the solo in the middle when it doesn't seem like it's going to end.
i know everything sounds better, but i seriously think hey is the best pixies song to listen to when stoned. does anyone agree with me? |

yeah. i like gouge away too. silver is ok, but it was a total killer in between the two. i just think hey is the BEST one while high.
maybe this was just a personal experience. and weed isn't passe'!!

Never tried hey! in that way. It was always my favorite song to scream to while painting. I might have been high on turpentine and lithotine fumes, come to think of it. You know that ~whah~whah~whah~whah~whah~ sound? heheheheh

Alcohol makes people violent and/or stupid.
At least pot just makes you stupid in a good way.
Everything sounds better high because your body and mind are relaxed and able to focus more.

THAT'S A BOLD GENERALIZATION TO SAY ALCOHOL MAKES PEOPLE VIOLENT AND/OR STUPID. IT DOESN'T "MAKE PEOPLE" ANYTHING....IT JUST ENHANCES WHAT THEY ALREADY ARE....SO STUPID VIOLENT PEOPLE ARE GOING TO START HITTING ON THE GIRL AT THE BAR WITH THE BIGGEST BOYFRIEND, ETC. I KNOW LOTS OF PEOPLE WHO DRINK QUITE A BIT (AND I DONT MEAN ONE OR TWO BEER A NIGHT) AND NEVER DO ANYTHING STUPID LIKE THAT.

The young people in Denmark has the world record of drinking, has been so in many years.
I´ve seen alot of stupid moves made by drunk people, myself included.

why can't we not agree that all beer is good. now, budweiser is renowned as piss. we all agree there. but can we not all agree that a yuengling lager is worthy of some praise. i'm proud to be close to america's oldest brewery.

in response to the comment about our founding fathers being lit all the time, i would just like to add that thomas jefferson had a field just for mary jane. i think that the smoke is more conducive for writing and founding than alcohol, but that's just my opinion. i'd like to know what your comment stems from. i've never heard that our founding fathers were lushes.

THEY COULDN'T DRINK WATER LIKE WE DO TODAY BECAUSE THEY HAD NO MEANS TO PURIFY IT. THE ONLY BEVERAGES THAT WERE REALLY SAFE TO DRINK WERE ALCOHOLIC BECAUSE OF THE FERMENTATION PROCESS. I SAW THIS DOCUMENTARY ON IT....THERE ARE ACTUAL SHIPPING DOCUMENTS SHOWING BARRELS OF BEER BEING SHIPPED TO THE CONSITUTIONAL CONVENTION....LOTS OF BARRELS
