Does anyone know where the spoken intro to I'm Amazed comes from??? I have been meaning to ask for ages.

Thanks -

And then the next thing you know...

hehe, I wish I knew. I've got a feeling it may be similar to "you fucking die" and they just edited it and put it before the song. Either that or it was very well acted. When you hear them laughing...it sounds too real...who knows.

Are you being serious or is this one of your sarcastic jokes or something?

no, that was all a joke.....it's DEFINITELY not Sartre. Although I'm kind of disappointed that some of you weren't sure

I have no idea who Sartre is and I feel no dissapointment in myself that I don't.

So can I assume nobody knows what the spoken intro to I'm Amazed is then?

I saw a great t-shirt the other day.

It read "Pretend I am not here. That is what I am doing."

Sort of Sartre-ish!?

NO!!!...............and nor will I watch T.V. Music takes up too much of my time in many different ways, and I like it like that.

I'm sure the intro is just some off the cuff story that Kim was telling in the studio one day which Albini decided to catch on tape, and they decided to throw it on the CD because it was quirky, just like the Pixies.

Yep and so could you. Everyone COULD read more and that includes you. So it is also your loss.

And experienced in what exactly? Reading? How profound.

The point should be made that I do read, I just had never heard of Sartre, just as you would not have heard of some of the authors who's books I read. It's as simple as that so let's leave it at that.

Nothin' wrong with a little Theodor Seuss Geisel.

But the appreciation of him (not to mention FB) only grows once you've read Kierkegaard, Camus, Voltaire, Beckett, and Sartre ;)

knowledge of Sartre doesn't usually impress the ladies much. Not like a little Grinch does

although from what I've read, Sartre had a way with the ladies....which is really impressive considering he looked like Gollum
