Glad someone put TLM up there - Can't put them in order myself. There's one good one for every day of the week.
I think Surfer Rosa got more airplay over my lifetime so far though.

long ago, i would have said: 1. doolittle, 2. surfer rosa, 3. bossanova, 4. trompe.
but i find surfer rosa less satisfying with time (about 10 years time, for me), a bit overrated among pixies albums, and certainly absolutely not the best. it's loads of fun, but it's ultimately rather too easy and simplistic--fabulously so, but still.
i've also found that with time, bossa and trompe just get better, more satisfying, and more interesting. so i'd be tempted to put them at the top or at least above surfer rosa. trompe is the more daring varied and interesting, while bossa is the most affecting and successful as a solid thematically consistant whole. |

I agree, Alpha. I originally posted in this thread that they all were number one, because I feel it unfair to myself to pick a favorite...however! I always have had a little more love for Trompe le Monde. I love that album I love that album I love that album I do!

surfer rosa has always been my favourite (especially if CoP is included) but i'd probably say doolittle is the best. its got a shine to it.
