man, you can't believe that someone say that's for him into the white is his worst song ever. but, look at you when you say that tony's theme "SUCKS". it's not for tony's theme, it's ok, it's your choice. but don't be so categorical with a thing that only concern yourself.

I don't like Silver that much. And there are one or two b-sides which i think are pretty lame. I think maybe Bailey's Walk. Also Into the White is just OK. Maybe Kim Deal on vocals just doesn't sit well with me.

Funny, because Kim Deal is semi-annoying on both "Into the white" AND "Tony's Theme."

People are crazy. I don't remember being fond of tony's theme, wave of mutilation, and some others, but This Monkey's Gone to Heaven is good along with Wild Honey Pie, Havalina, Vamos, and La La Love you, and I CAN'T BELIEVE ANYONE IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE DOES NOT LIKE VELOURIA!!! VELOURIA IS AN AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING SONG!!!!!!!

Pong- Last I checked this forum was a place to voice one's opinion...and opinions are categorical by nature. So I have no idea why you are getting on my case...I never flamed anyone for their view, just expressing mine. So lay off, man! |

I personally don't think Kim sounds "annoying" on either one...as a guitar player and musician, I tend to focus on the instrumentation of songs more than the lyrics...I find the riff in Tony's Theme (plus Joey's lame-ish little guitar lead in it) to be, well....Boring! whereas Into the White (especially the stellar Death to the Pixies live version) is simplistic but raw and cool sounding, and especially how it builds up to the last part of the song. (Is 'boring' to categorical for you, Pong?) |

I'm not really sure why Kim Deal tends to annoy me. She's alright and all, but, when I think of the Pixies, I don't think as highly of her as I do Black Francis or Joey, even though she played bass and sung BGVs.

Guys, whatever you do, don't get into "i have a right to my own opinions, this is a free country" type stuff.
These polls always start off kind of interesting, but then eventually get extremely discouraging because you realize eventually, every Pixies song is going to be named, including Debaser, Gouge Away, ext.
Least favorite Pixies song is tough, because my opinions of their songs are constantly to this day changing. I made a 2 hour best of the Pixies tape for my car a few years back and listening to it now I can't understand why i included some songs, but not others.
eh, basically i'm just angry because i can't think of my least favorite so i can't join your little game |

you all are a sad fermentation of patheticism. first of all, i have no idea why i am replying at all, and im sure youre sorry i did, but hey, when someone strikes a nerve you have to strike back, right? stormy weather is kick ass, it is appropriately in position for that spot on the album and it sets the mood for the last song, Silver is great because as we all know kim and francis shared the writing and the influence of neil young comes out in a big way, also these songs are unique and whoever mentioned wave of mutilation should go jump off a pier because that song is beautiful...both versions instead of worrying about your least fav song Talk about the shitty music that is ruling the world today and how the only bands that are decent are exploited

Ahh! No more "free country i have a right to what I say opinion posts", they sound like lines out of a 80's American anti-soviet movie.
Samuel--you love all the Pixies songs and that's great! My suggestion is to move far away from this forum because it's just going to piss you off. |

I'm not sure I can let this slide, have you guys ever seen an 80's US anti-soviet movie? I'm talking Rocky 4, Superman 4, any movie made with Ah-nuld. Pretty much every movie made in the US in the 80's was against the Soviets actually. At one point in every single one of them, there's a "this is the United States and we believe in freedom!" as the music swells. It was like the armpit of cinema. |

Romanoff, sadly I never saw Red Dawn. My all time favorite was Rambo II (perhaps the highest body count of any movie, save for Rambo III and Commando) and I also really liked that Clint Eastwood movie where he goes to the Soviet Union and steals a plane and a huge chase ensues with an evil Soviet pilot along with the worst use of rear-projection/bluescreening in cinema history. |
