uuugh... let's just hope it works. Right now the audio channel is playing C&W Music but it video channel is showing a rock band... oops.
The audio feed was lost for a few minutes before that. ok it's fixed. |

CDT is Central Daylight Time. This time of the year most of the US is on 'DAYLIGHT' time. In October CDT will become CST (Central Standard Time). For more info on US Time Zones visit, http://www.timetemperature.com/tzus/time_zone.shtml

Ahh, never knew that. I thought it was just called CST all year 'round. But then, we don't do daylights savings here... :)

Where "* denotes scheduled inclusion in the webcast" but, it doesn't say "(webcast from 0:00-0:00)" beside their name like it does in front of *few* others.
I wonder if this will be as simple as clicking "watch now" at the right time.

Yeah, in Arizona we don't do Daylight Saving Time either. It doesn't make a whole hell of a lot a sense. |

I would like to know how they decided which bands to show and which not to show, because there are 7 acts I'd rather see than Dashboard COfessionals, and other bands I've never heard of, (I could be pleasantly surprised, we'll see about that)
1. The Roots
2. Calexico
3. Elvis Costello
4. American Analog Set
5. Cat Power
6. Modest MOOse
7. Cake
Pretty much in descending order... I mean I like all these bands, the top 5 I adore, sucks I can't see them, I get to watch fucking Dashboard Confessional instead. I wonder how they choose which to braodcast? Still thankful for the Pixies though, that's nice for fans like me who won't be seeing the Pixies.

fucking weird, i had no idea what was going on for a minute.
front page said "Also, there's apparently going to be a at 8:45 CDT time on Saturday (Sept 18th)."
then someone said check out this link... and there was no link. i was getting pissed off.

Hey, I'm in austin at the festival for the weekend and it's already been great. If you haven't heard a band named Gomez, I recommend it. I had intended to see Franz Ferdinand, but they played opposite gomez. Anyway... point is... I can't wait to see the show tonight, and seeing this post is just making me more anxious.
I'd say I'd post a songlist or something, but I assume since it's being broadcast live on the web that someone else will be more able than I. I will try to be close, but since some of the lesser name bands are packed beyond reason at this fest (I've heard that 200k+ may pass through the gates this weekend). Anyway... cameras are allowed, and if I can post some pix that are worth a damn, I'll do so.
Can you freakin' believe it? PIXIES live? I do miss the Catholics more and more as this show approaches there. My wife said "So that guitar guy that is so cool with the long blonde hair and the glasses isn't going to be there?" I said... no... I know what you mean... but there will be OTHER cool people there.

If you go to "settings" and change your connection type,to high broadband i think it was,you should get it better quality

I take it compatability when playbing back is not an issue?

Yeah, I downloaded a few of those things, but the problem is, in order to record a stream you have to type in a url for the stream and this particular stream doesn't give a url when you right click and go to properties for some reason. Does anyone have a solution? Or am I just an idiot and doing this completely wrong?

Nimrods's son sounds like you are ahead of me. I got some software called ProDVD Control Panel. It's a free trial of 20 recordings or 15 days, whichever comes first.
I am still working on this one guys... but if there was some one else out there recording that would make me feel better. :) |

| Thanks apl! The one I got actually would only burn DVD's so since that's not helpful to everyone.. I will keep trying to get this started... but if anyone else knows how this works and could step up that would be great. :) |

ok so I grabbed the demo of HiDownload from DaisyGirl's post, and when I launch the video and view the source of the frame I get what should be the URL of the video source but so far I can grab only about 5K and it doesn't play back. From some cursoury reading online it seems the folks over at launch.yahoo.com don't like people viewing their stuff with outside software, and that includes recorders :/ I'll keep tinkering...

Yeah.. I have tinkered around with that and couldn't get it to play back. Right now I am focusing on Easy Video capture... it seemed to be the easiest.
It's recording... a nice neat little box... (the video is higher quality in the small vs. lg screen format.. got it set up to record cd quality audio... but.. the darn program has disapeared from my screen...so I haven't had a chance to save/and or replay anything yet.
By the way I love you all like a virtual fam, but I am going to quit tinkering as soon as the P's start... |
