I think I follow ramona.

Going to mail mine a couple of days after she does.

Just in case there's a holiday shipping-type delay.

Yeah, sorry guys; I sent mine out on the prescribed date, but I probably should have gone a couple days early to account for the hassles involved with crossing the border.

When I sent mine the Post Office told me I didn't have to fill out customs forms for the cds due to the weight of the package if I didn't want to, but in doing so it would speed them up in getting through. I don't know if that's true or not or how it works coming from you into the states. Until then, I wait patiently.

Got mine this afternoon. About the package, my name and address was almost wiped off completely. I think it has something to do with those shiney mailers. Anyway there was no time to listen yet. Wife wanted to go to the Maccaroni Grill. So we did.

That's pretty shitty about the packages. The lady at the post office said Sharpies were undoubtedly the best thing to use on them. I'm kind of worried now that they'll all get washed away. I'll really feel like a clown then. At least knowing one made it lends a bit of hope.

When we send stuff here they fill out a little customs sticker for you, there's not a big form involved. At least that's how it's always been for me.

The customs people might be on strike. The Canadian federal civil service is holding rotating one-month strikes, so it might be their turn. I know it was the passport office last month. You'd think somebody would just get the shit solved, but people are too stupid about money.

Nothing is ever something.

I'm very behind on listening. I really wanted to get mine out and now that that is done, I will try to catch up. It's lame to say but lately my only CD time is when I am at work and I can't play stuff super loud here. I am FULL OF EXCUSES. Feh.

I left Crispy's on the counter when I grabbed a snack before work this morning. It keeps getting forgotten in various locations and situations. :(

Oh no! Can you listen to it on a normal CD player? Shit. I'm sorry.

I burned it at work on my stupid Window's Media Player. I'm sorry! I feel sad.

In other news, I got King's yesterday and I almost put Waltz #2 on mine. Glad I left it off at the last minute.

i think its actually the type of disc that my computer can't read (the black back discs) - b/c i have a reggae sampler from mojo that wn't read either - and unfortunately, the only "real" cd player in my place is old as shit and doesn't played burned discs - i'll try it at work today - i might be able to have a friend burn it to a real disc for me.

I hope you all enjoy my mix - I tried to put a wide array of bands that I enjoy. I know Floop hates Wilco so I just had to put at least one song by them.

I'm kinda curious as to what 3 songs Broken Face was going to put on his mix though?

king of siam - i appreciated that. :) i actually don't "hate" Wilco. but sort of do. that's a slight misunderstanding.

i do actively hate Death Cab For Cutie though, which you also put on. i tried to be open-minded and give that song a listen but had to skip ahead about 20 seconds in . i'm sorry.

i like the Modest Mouse song you put on. i slowly coming to accept that they're actually a good band, though reluctantly.

crispy - listened to yers too. i can't believe you wrote all those tracks out by hand for each cd. your hand must be in pain.

the Evergreen is a big stand out for me. i know there was other stuff i liked too.

is that indian number from a soundtrack?

got Ramonas now too. more listening to do..

Yeah, the Evergreen CD is one of the greatest recordings I've heard, start to finish. There wasn't any Indian song, but I'll assume you mean the Greek one (Marjorie, on the Sly). It's not from any soundtrack I know of, I just got it off a compilation called "Mourmourika: Songs of the Greek Underworld," and it's got some dates, but I haven't got it sitting here right now. I think they're all from the thirties and forties. According to the notes, these are songs that were written by all the men living in hash dens around Greece at the time. I haven't read the translations for most of the songs, because I'm always blown away by how much I can feel from these word-sounds I can't recognize. Not every song is a winner, but it's soothed (and haunted) me to sleep many an evening.

Nothing is ever something.

Right... I still don't have Alex's up! :)

I think that so far, Alex's discs run closest to my own tastes, although quite different as well.
