I'm making my mix right now and it's more funny than I thought. Sorry grunge fans, this is an extra-cheese compilation. Better than having antidepressant drugs.

I´m going to burn mine only on monday and I hope I can do it because I´m having some problems with this crazy computer!
I want to send one mix to Whoreatthedoor and another to Benji that had this great idea...just hopping that you like my sound!
Now I´m a little bit confused! What shall I do next?

i'm open to any/all music. i'm trying to make my mix a good balance of stuff that you would have no way of hearing (local bands, totally super obscure) and stuff that you might just not have come across yet. i cut out all stuff i really thought was "obvious" - the most "obvious" stuff to an FB fan would be some more indie stuff (as i mentioned before there was in the initial running the postal service, jonny polonksy and the jayhawks - not sure which will make the final cut). i tried taking a poll earlier but no one listened - if these are too well known by the general group of people i'll replace them as i haven't burned the CDs yet. thanks!

I'm totally unfussy and I'm not really thinking in those terms, I'm not asking everyone for a list of bands they like I'm making a CD of songs I really really love and sharing it, am I missing the point?

You're taking it too long, Brian. Just make a mix of whatever you like. If it helps you, I haven't heard almost every band you talk about on this forum.
Anyway, as we cannot include Pixies/Frank related stuff it's virtually impossible to make a personal all-time greatest hits mix, so enjoy it!!!
Also, this probably won't be my last shared compilation so I'm not taking too much effort on it. Just taking some songs I like on the same CD. And, if you guys don't like it, (Put here your fave euphemism for "fuck you" ).
As I have no friends, I haven't checked my mail, rita. Here I go!!!

Shit! The discs I bought won't copy all of the songs. That's what I get for buying shitty Verbatim.
My compilation will be slightly delayed. I am going to buy new discs today and my friend will burn them today, but I won't be able to pick them up 'til later this week.
Is that OK?

yes, please include a printout of whats actually on the cd's.
and as the cd's will be very light if you don't send them in jewel cases, it should cost pretty similar to sending a letter.
i'll be sending mine airmail to those overseas, but i know others won't be. i don't see this as any kind of problem. as long as i know that you actually are sending the cd, i trust the postal services to deliver it.

I haven’t checked my email this weekend so I don’t know who sent me their addy’s, but hopefully I’ll have everyones by tonite when I check.
The plan was to just send the same compilation out to everyone….seems rather a lot of effort to make personalised ones – time which I certainly don’t have.
But it is up to everyone how they do it, but that was the plan from the onset.
Regarding tracklistings – just create a cd that you yourself would want to listen to.
I originally made the one I’m sending out about 4 years ago, and it’s probably my most-oft listened cd.
I took a long time in compiling mine, and after a few revisions, I think what I ended up with is great, but I certainly don’t expect everyone to love it as I do. All I can hope is that a couple of the tracks really grab you and maybe inspire you to look into those artists.
I’m also a stickler for running order, so I spent as long deciding the track order as the actual songs on it.
An album has to flow perfectly for me.
But I am really excited about hearing what everyone has put on the cd’s.
I have been out of the loop a fair bit regarding new music apart from the artists and ‘groups’ that I have known and loved for ages, so I’m really looking forward to hearing some new stuff – even if it isn’t actually new.

I´ll finish my CD these days, so I will post them by the end of the week. I´m trying to make something with some bands that people don´t listen a lot, but with a very good sound. Like Benji said, that I would like to receive too!

I am sending 5 but that doesn't include Bumble and Mel, who I will give the CD's to personally. So I am 7 really (6 if Mel is not in the game).
I bought 4 new CD's today and they are all brilliant. Unfortunately they have missed the cut. When are we doing the next one?

ok - here is the list that i have compiled so far.
any problems (there probably will be many) please post here and we can sort them out.
the crux of the thing is that the people who are sending out less cd's get more, while those sending out more, get less.
unfortunate, but i couldn't think of any way around it.
and sorry for the lists - i had made up pretty tables, but the forum wouldn't take them.

Not a typo.
Unless the people sending out 5 up their numbers or those sending out 9 only send 6, it simply won’t be even.
If anyone has a better way of dealing with it, please speak up, cause it’s not ideal, but I couldn’t think of any way round it.
