I'll rejoice you in tales about my school. It was the worst in my county (Lancs) and one of the worst in the country. I've witnessed teachers being beaten up by pupils. Knives held to peoples throats, fireworks set off in corridors the width of well...something not very wide, countless people being hit/knocked out for doing nothing but stroke a dog/throw grass in a fun kid like way. Luckily for me I escaped from that hell hole with decent grades (allbeit worse than if I'd been to a decent school) and a weird view on life for quite sometime. I couldn't have liked rock music in those days, no siree bob.

heh heh, I got threatened with a knife at my first highschool, they called me matilda like the dahl books 'cos I had specs and long dark hair and was in accelerated learning for some things, this guy held a knife to my throat and asked if I was frightened, I was 11, kicked the fucker in the ankle and ran off, lucky for me my junior school was way worse and I knew what to do about that sort of bullshit. I spent most of formative years in fights and covered in bruises. I was bullied for a hell of a long time till I lost my temper one day and kicked the shit out of one kid, then it sloped off, I went to two highschools and had to go through the same thing in each of them
I scowl at anyone who dare say to me that school years were magical, they were SHIT
and there are three spiders hiding in here...

I used to work at the sixth-form college up the road from me in North London - we got to know the police quite well after a few stabbings.

We go to Primary schools from 4/5-10/11 then to high school from 10/11-15/16 from there you can do what you like college is generally 2 years and then from there to uni where most courses are 3 years, but come 16 your free to do whatever you want.

Wow, I never knew that British Schools could be so violent. I had this picture in my head that everyone wore uniforms and everything was orderly. If anything I thought it was the teachers beating up the students not the other way around.
My high school was big (over 3000 people) and diverse. By many standards and the stories posted here, it would be considered pretty tame. There were a lot of fights, guns, and knifes (pre metal detector era). You could also get any drug on the market. There were the Cripts, Disciples and Vice Lords. Once my brother was randomly beaten up. The worst I saw was a teacher was slammed into a trophy display case by a student. But for the most part, thankfully, you could steer clear of the violence. The best excuse for being late to class was to say that there was a fight blocking the hall. I was teased by some of the jocks for being alternative/goth and wearing black all the time. At the time it sucked but I would do my best to tease them back. |

Yeah, I had a gothy hippy thing going down back then, oh the stories I could tell you, we haven't gotten to the metal detector stage yet, but kids are shits, I had a friend who wanted to call childline once, we went out to use the phone box and these two guys came and told us to get the fuck out of the phone box (this is my first high school again I think I was 12 now) I told them to fuck off and wait, they trapped us in the phone box and were threatening to "fuck us up" when they decided to let us out, the girl I was with started crying, if I'd have thought I'd have called the police but I wasn't thinking I was just mad, so I started swearing like a sailor, pushed the girl into the far corner of the box, propped up againt the back of it and started kicking the bottom glass and punching the top glass whilst still letting out a torrent of abuse, the blokes (growed ups I might add) were telling me they were going to cut my face and blah blah blah, just as I'd managed to kick through the bottom glass and start kicking one of these fuckers in his leg the headmaster came out, someone had run to fetch him, he chased off the two blokes and took us indoors and called the police, that all got a bit nasty...
My second high school wasn't as bad as my first, the first was located in scum fuck central, I lived in a horribly rough area, but at the second, because I had arse length black hair and because I wore DM's and because I mostly wore black out of school I was obviously a devil worshipper, but that was mostly words, I spent the first year or so there on my own reading books when I wasn't in class, untill I met a few good people, only one person from school I keep in contact with and only because he is an absolute diamond, I'd have gone under without him and I know he'd say the same. I didn't get into another fight until my youngest brother started. A kid from my year threw a snowball loaded with rocks in his face, I had to chase this (well over 6 foot) cunt down (tre is 5 ft on the dot) kick his legs from under him and stand on him till he apologised to Daniel, My other brother had to do similar to a different kid, but young danny boy wan't picked on again I tell ya.
Only once did I have to defend myself against bullys in my second high school, I was mostly a loner but their was a girl who was part of a group I called the "munch bunch" who I was friendly with, I was a it of a crazy looking indie kid at this point, I had heavily layered hair and heavy Kohl and funky clothes bought from the charity shop I worked in, but she kind of fucked me over and excluded me from lots of stuff saying I was too odd to fit into her social group. So I walked away, went back to books at lunchtime, the odd joint with my friend. Except, 'cos I stepped back I was now bully fodder, when I was a kid I was bullied a lot for being fat, I don't even think, looking back I was, but hearing it over so many years led to me really hating how I looked, and she knew this, and told her munch bunch, so one lad after class walked behind me making earthquake noises, very funny, I cottened on, heard them all laughing, lost my temper, punched him square in the face. This other huge kid came and picked me up whilst this snot ran off, and said "tre man, what are you doing?" Obi his name I think, huge huge chap, I told him what happened and he put me down and said go get him, chased that fucker round the school, got him backed into a corner just as a teacher turned up, he got into trouble, I got sod all.
We finished school not long after that, We got our GCSE results, and they started again man, on that day, I was going to a really good college and I had been offered a deal because I was doing all sciences, they were all going to the same shit college because they wanted to stay together, they came and gathered round and told me I was only going there because I got a deal, that I would be a loser and a failure, that I was a freak who would die alone... blah blah blah, over the years I had picked up a lot about these people, and I lost my temper but instead of hitting them, which is what I would have done before, I opened my mouth and was fucking VILE, the ring leader ran off crying and a couple of others got upset and ran off too, I have never put up with that sort of bullshit to this day.

Wow HPM... apes raise kids in the UK? I thought that only happened in the US. (OK I am making fun of myself here).
Tre, I am so sorry that you went through all of that in school. It is horrible that people can be so mean to other kids. The sad thing is a lot of those people don't change for the better as adults. Also, it only seems like it is harder for kids now in school than it was for us. |

Having said that, I remember one time, all the apes laughed at me for suggesting we have something other than bananas for dinner one day. One day, that's all I wanted. Just a peach, maybe a mango. I dunno, JUST NOT FUCKING BANANAS FOR ONE FUCKING DAY!
