couldn't have put it better, thats exactly what he was like. i'd say he was very nervous though! remember seeing that on TV the first time round, and always wanted to see it agin. isn't it strange the amount of new people who would know who frank and the pixies are now, compared to when that was originally aired? |

I agree, chinese...leave it to Bowie. "the extraordinary frank black!" he says at the end of the track--now THAT'S a compliment! |

Was any of it aired on tv somewhere? If it was I'll try to search to see if a torrent is available somewhere

I lately got from Soulseek the video file (mpeg) of 4 songs from T in The Park in Scotland (2004-07-11). Really good quality, but it takes about 350 MB.

Were MTV just trying to be ironic with only having the Breeders play Divine Hammer and Cannonball on new years eve?

It shames me to admit, tobafett. I'm kicking it old school with an OS 9.1. Any suggestions?

can you download Windows Media Player from mactopia.com? (other products on the left side of the page)?
that should do it...
and do NOT be ashamed of 9.1--old school is hip:) my other machine is a 7300 running 9! (not as slick as my kick-butt powerbook, tho!)
edit [if that no-a worka, email me and we'll go from there!] |

Polish language, of course. Mattb, are you Polish? Broszkowski is a Slav surname.
"Stary, nasza sprzataczka zna Pixies" is a sentence used by a music reviewer and it means "Man, even our cleaner knows Pixies". Mattb said that he knew Pixies 15 years ago in Poland during his holiday. He heard them on the radio there. Only there, because in Canadian radio Pixies song aren't played.
I think you should also know that it wasn't easy for me to get Pixies DVD in Poland. I was waiting for it about 45 days...

Does anyone happen to know where to find the Dennis Miller Show appearance from 92? They did Planet of Sound. Charles starts it off with "Do any of you believe in UFO's?"

Personally, I have the Dennis Miller appearances. Though the quality is uber-shitty. I know somebody else on the forum has it as well. They did Planet Of Sound, Head On, and Bird Dream, if I'm not mistaken. If nobody else has a better quality version they can find for it, I'll try to get mine onto a computer. Something is better than nothing. Eh? |

Crouton Futon wasn't able to find his tape so if you're up for it we could work something out where you can mail me the tape , I'll capture it and mail it back to you. If you're worried about my credibility then just check the Winnipeg ticket trading thread.
And Tomq, yes, I'm polish. Sorry I didn't translate for everyone else :)
Thanks for the continued thanks guys. I'm still planning on putting up that concert but it's time consuming to encode so it might be a while. I think the show is form the UK and it was professionally shot but again the quality isn't the greatest.

What an arrogant ass. Umm, we're in the band, I think I know what kind of music it is/isn't.
Death Metal bands are easily characterized by their ultra-cheesy/lame names: Doom Circus, Satan's Pinions, Hate Mongers R Us, etc...
Generally amelodic screaming, double kick, very heavy, and scarcely music at all other than a droning kick/snare and a distorted guitar chord.
"When 5000 posts you reach / Look as good you will not, hmmm?"
An important facet to death metal, in my experience of it, is the characteristc trying-to-sound-like-a-growling-monster unintelligible vocal thing. Like when Metallica (not death metal per se) guy sings "take my hand" in the Enter Sandman song, he really sings it "tay my heeul," which is reminiscent of death metal phrasing. To me the vocals resemble what it would be like if a small child, in trying to growl as their imagination tells them a lion would, could use their voice to sing rapidly about eating people's entrails.
It frankly sounds quite gay.
