The preview looked like the first 2 minutes of Jaws stretched to two hours. For a good shark flick see Al Giddings "Blue Water White Death". Thanks for the warning.

Judging by the trailer, it looked interesting. I like the idea that a film can be set in one place, whether it be a room, ocean or a phone booth, or telephone box as we Brits call them. Doesn't have the same RING to it does it? See what I did there?

nice one Ade. yeah, i've heard good things about RING. haven't seen it yet.

movies that all happen in one place are great, when they're good, but this is not the case. Roman Polanski's KNIFE IN THE WATER.. now that's a great movie.

it's great that it's "based on true events" and all.. but just because events are true, doesn't mean they should be made into a two-hour movie.

nothing happens, and then it just ends. .

it's kind of scary at points, because (surprise) there are sharks in the water .. but that gets old fast.. they should have taken more liberties with the story and had something else happen.

i would rather watch a 30 minute documentary about how one of the crew members got bitten by a shark while making this shitty film.

There's no finer example of this than Hitchcocks' Lifeboat. No sharks though. Content is immaterial, My Dinner with Andre is as captivating as Alien. This film just looks brutal - a wet Last House on the Left. Maybe someday I'll get desperate and rent it and find out it's great.

It's a film based on a true story about two people who ened up in the open sea together, trying to stay alive. Sounds boring but I quite fancy it. [whispers] It has sharks in it.

I'm guessing Wilson would have a face made out of smeared poo. That'd be Castaway plus his ass, I think.

Anybody who saw Open Water: Was the trailer for The Life Aquatic shown before the flick? I really really really want to see it. Not Open Water, though.
