eurgh! i just saw his edit... well i like some female fronted bands. i really do... do i know this female mike?
the highlight of my day so far was a girl talking to me (for the first time really) at work and saying "you read really quickly" - which i don't, but i was reading the curious incident of the dog in the night-time, it's big text, illustrations and easy to read, so i finished it in the morning... so i thought that was nice, as i'm a slow reader, but i came off as being all clever when she started asking me about books. erm, yeah, that's it.

lets see today I woke up groggily on my sofa and realised firstly that I'd left all my windows open (not a good idea in this area really) and secondly I had just over half an hour to get to work. I left the TV on and saw that in cornwall, where my mum and bro's live, there's been some hardcore flooding. I got to work and was informed I'd be training my replacement who turned out to be a girl I've previously worked with who is a self important lazy shit stirring twat, she spent the rest off the day running off with her friend or gassing loudly on her mobile phone while I sweated like a pig trying to clear up the mess left from yesterday (I was off sick so they made a total mess in my absence) the new girl moaned about the tapes I had on, the bus home was hot and packed, the walk home from the bus stop was humid and I'd forgotten my walkman, I got home to a bunch of hippies barring the entrance to the building (I had to climb over them as they wouldn't shift) and an email saying my course was in jeopardy 'cos my old lecturer has been slow in getting a reference to them, I've no food but packet pasta in and evil period pains that I'm taking ibuprofen and paracetamol for, and a whole pile of housework to do. Luckily I've got a rather painfull injection tomorrow so I get a lie in.
The Highlight? finding out my mum and bro's are not flooded out and are all ok.
[edit] a close second on the highlight front is I just found out after I move there erasure are due to play a gig in Sheffield! I'm gonna go see erasure! woooooo! Mikey, I'll call you for the best bit's so it'll be like you were there too, you lucky thing, ha ha ha I amused myself again, hehe hehehehe

Random act of kindness has stunned me a bit, one of my neighbours who I hardly know just knocked on my door, I usually ignore my door but curiosity got the better of me this time, he gave me a huge packet of saffron, his mother sent him a load of them and he thought I'd like to cook with some! How nice is that!

That's exceedingly nice. Wow. That stuff is so expensive. Random acts of kindness are the best.
Me, I'm basking in the glow of buying my honey and me 2 tix to see Gibby Haynes and His Problem at Abbey Pub in Chicago because of Surfer Rosa's unknown random act of kindness (in the "What are you listening to" thread - thnak you!!). And drinking vodka and cranberry juice. And working on a sculpture. Ahhhhh!
edit: and by "thnak you", I meant "thnak you", only better. My typing sucks eggs. sheesh!

Vodka and cranberry juice?
Vodka should only be mixed with milk.

erm, same as yesterday, sitting around reading my book, being paid for doing bugger all. but i'm guessing we'll be a bit busier when the a-level results come out tomorrow. but i'm off on friday and monday, so it'll only be 1 day of proper work, yay! oh and i did the vocals for the song i'm recording at the moment, my first properly recorded song, so that was cool, in fact that was the highlight, being ace.

I have finally recovered from a killer weekend saying goodbye to my brother and some serious shopping at Agent Provocateur (though I'm not sure my credit card has recovered from that yet!). He's leaving me a crash helmet so now I don't need to use buses or tubes whenever I'm in town (my friends all drive scooters now) big YAY! |

Sometime in the past few days, I made it to twelfth place in terms of my number of posts. I'm now the highest-ranked Denizen of the Citizens' Band.
Not that that's anything to really be that proud of, or the actual highlight of my day, but I thought it deserved a mention.

I wasted an entire potential evening out by offering to help some people only for it all to fall through. After which I was offered some Pixies tickets which I had to turn down because I'm really poor and incredibly weary. Now there's nothing on TV.
Highlights, who needs 'em.
