They played quite a bit of "Here Comes Your Man" on last night's episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

All exposure is good exposure.

BBC3 in the UK has been advertising a new program which sounds like it may have Cecilia Ann as its title track.

That'll just be for the advertising of that program; it won't crop up in the show itself. Someone who does trailers at the Beeb likes the Pixies; hell, Cecilia Ann was even the Goal Of The Month music for a little while on Match of the Day.

Yeah, I remember that many moons ago. Would it be too much to hope that they do something similar now that MotD is back with us?

Given the breathtaking quality of music that most Premiership footballers seem to go for, I think it would be too much to hope!

Craig David, anyone? ;-)

Hey, what better symbolizes the concept of freedom rock than jumping off a pier in a chicken suit? That's certainly a different uniform, after all!

i started watching that tonight, the kick ass moves thing, and it wasn't cecilia ann as the title track, seems they were just using it for the promos... although i couldn't stand to watch it through to the finish, so they *may* have used it on the end credits, but i doubt it. btw i put on capricorn 1 instead, bought it today for £7, bargain!

cecilia ann is used on the adverts, it was on the TV in the smoke room at work, I did a jump up and down and pointed at the TV and everyone at work looked at me odd-like

I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

Actually, the Pixies have been on Letterman before. They played Trompe Le Monde. They were supported by Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra. Paul played a bitchin keyboard solo. Dave played the maracas, and I think Kim played an acoustic guitar, but I'm not too sure on that one. It was very surreal.

Yea i actually have that show on tape, really funny. I bought it off ebay a few years ago, along with mtv's 120 minutes, and Dennis Miller which was the greatest tv proformance ever. They played 3 songs in two nights on that show, and planet of sound rocked hard, loved how the audience in the front rows were going retarded at this point, headbanging and shit, really funny shit it still cracks me up.

I think I have the same tape. On Dennis Miller they did Planet of Sound, Bird Dream, and I can't remember the other. Then there's Trompe on Letterman. U-Mass and I believe Planet of Sound again on 120 minutes. Can't remember what else. I have a 3000th generation tape, though. The quality is shite. But the content is priceless.

The 89 show? I think I have the Town & Country gig on that tape. I actually have a 1st or 2nd generation tape of the Brixton gig that I bought in a store when I was in highschool. It has a bunch of Japanese pop music stuff after it. It's weird.

Actually, that doesn't surprise me. I have another tape somewhere with Frank Black performing Freedom Rock on Conan's show. He requested to perform in front of footage of Andy Richter dancing. So here they are, doing Freedom Rock in front of a giant screen with Andy freestylin' on it. It's hilarious. So we're not that far off subject here.

That sounds brillant, would have loved to have caught that! I've been hearing more Pixies soundbites on T.V. since their reunion but the programmes they were on were probably too insignificant to remember. Actually now that I think of it MTV had an excellent Gun's N' Roses V Pixies night on a couple of times recently, with all the Pixies videos V the Roses ones. They had pretty much all the videos except Head On. They also had a really good Pavment V Sonic Youth one as well, which was fucking great compared to the drivel thats on at that hour of the night. I hadn't seen the Little Trouble Girl video in ages, the two Kims look great in it.
